Hello new friend πŸ‘‹

Getting back into the swing of training again after injury, illness, and generally crappy headspace and falling in love with the process all over again.

Reminder that it's OK to take breaks or change it up for a bit.

Uncomplicate it, I'm now doing 4 exercises per day, 5 days a week because 'I go to the gym in the morning during the week' rather than some random schedule uses way less executive function for me and I'm more likely to stick to it.

Choose what works for you, not what you feel like you're supposed to do

Mindfulness is the practice of being fully present and aware in the moment. When applied to exercise, it can transform your workouts from mundane tasks into opportunities for growth and self-discovery.
Here are a few ways you can incorporate mindfulness into your fitness routine:
1. **Focus on Your Breath**: Pay attention to your breath as you move through each exercise. Not only does this help you stay present, but it also ensures you're breathing properly, which is essential for optimal performance and injury prevention.
2. **Tune into Your Body**: Listen to your body's signals. Notice how each movement feels, and adjust accordingly. This awareness can help you avoid overexertion and injury while maximizing the effectiveness of your workouts.
3. **Let Go of Distractions**: In a world filled with constant stimulation, it's crucial to carve out time for focused, distraction-free exercise. Put away your phone, turn off the TV, and create a space where you can fully immerse yourself in the present moment.
4. **Appreciate the Journey**: Instead of fixating on end results, such as weight loss or muscle gain, focus on the process of getting there. Celebrate small victories along the way, whether it's mastering a new exercise or pushing through a challenging workout.
By incorporating mindfulness into your fitness routine, you can cultivate a deeper connection between your mind and body, leading to greater physical and mental well-being. So the next time you hit the gym or lace up your sneakers, remember to breathe, tune in, and embrace the power of mindful movement. Your body and mind will thank you for it.

Out for a walk yesterday in my new bobble hat from .

Did you know walking is one of the most beneficial exercises we can do if able to do so?

There's tonnes of fascinating (geek moment) studies showcasing the positive effect walking can have on cardio health, sustainable fat loss and mental health.

Pfft walking really?

I mean... can you think of any other exercise that you could perform for hours on end, without the need for pre workout (my opinions on that another time 😬) socially, alone, in nature, as part of daily routine with minimal equipment ?
