πŸŽ‰ Celebrating πŸŽ‰

Today is International Volunteer Day and we are shining a light on all of the fantastic from St John Ambulance Dacorum Network πŸ’š

From First Aiders keeping communities safe to our Community Educators sharing their knowledge and skills to bring safety into the hands of the people in , we are so proud of the impact that our volunteers have on the people we serve.

We can’t forget our amazing youth volunteers helping to shape the next generation of lifesavers and the St John Ambulance young people themselves who give up their time to support the St John Ambulance mission of saving lives and supporting communities.

Thank you to all our volunteers and community supporters who make our work possible ⭐️

Massive congratulations to our very own Laura Anderson ! We're so proud of you!😊

πŸŽ‰Congratualtions to Laura Anderson on her Hero Award! πŸŽ‰

Laura was at Chipperfield Clarendon Cricket Club, when a player collapsed on the pitch. Laura applied CPR and revived him. The defibrillator wasn’t working and whilst waiting for another, he had two more heart attacks. She continued with CPR until the paramedics and Air ambulance arrived. He was flown to Harefield Hospital, and medical staff there confirmed that it is due to her quick intervention that he has made a full recovery. There is little doubt that Laura saved a life that day.

Earlier today at the King's Langley Beer & Fizz Fest, our team in green took the opportunity to teach some lifesaving skills to the local community.

If you are part of a local community group or club and you'd be interested in a free first aid session, email our Network Community Lead, at fintan.hastings@sja.org.uk
