✨Celebrating a special birthday at Hendon Hall ✨

Yesterday at Signature Hendon Hall, we marked a very special birthday with a lovely celebration in our private dining area at Hendon Hall for our lovely Joy 🎂

It was fantastic to see so many residents come together to celebrate. The sense of community here at Hendon Hall is something we’re incredibly proud of, and it’s always wonderful to see friendships shared around the table.

A big thank you to our hospitality team for all their hard work in preparing the space and ensuring everything ran seamlessly. Their attention to detail helped make the afternoon a great success.

From beautifully prepared Valentine’s meals designed for couples to enjoy a special dining experience together, to thoughtfully decorated spaces creating the perfect romantic atmosphere, every detail has been arranged with care.

Valentine’s Week isn’t just about couples — it’s about friendship, community and celebrating the people around us. Seeing smiles, hearing stories of treasured memories, and watching new moments being made has been truly heart-warming.

🐰🦎🐭 We were so pleased to welcome Megan’s Petting Paradise for a truly heart-warming visit. Residents spent time enjoying the gentle presence of a range of animals, from cuddly rabbits to a calm bearded dragon and a friendly rat.

🤗 The session created a peaceful, happy atmosphere and prompted smiles, conversation and shared moments of joy. Visits like these offer comfort, encourage connection and add something really special to everyday life within our home.

💜 A winning hand at Signature at Hendon Hall!

We were delighted to welcome Harold Schrogger, acclaimed bridge player, who came to teach our residents the wonderful game of bridge. From complete novices to seasoned experts, Othello Hall was open to all — and every table had something new to learn.

There were plenty of tricks on show… and we’re not just talking about card play 😉

With so many residents already passionate about bridge, let’s just say the competition was friendly… but very serious 😄♠

💜 Remembering Eva Schloss 💜

Yesterday, to mark Holocaust Memorial Day, we came together at Hendon Hall to read excerpts from Eva’s Story by our much-loved former resident, Eva Schloss.

Eva lived with us for over two years and was a passionate advocate for Holocaust remembrance. Reading her words felt especially meaningful, and deeply emotional, so soon after her passing.

The reading was followed by reflections from several of our residents who lived through the Holocaust themselves, sharing memories of lives forever changed, and reminding us why these stories must continue to be told.

We remember Eva with love, gratitude, and immense respect. 💜

💜 Such a special afternoon at Signature at Hendon Hall 💜

We loved welcoming pupils from Hendon Prep School who came armed with some very serious questions for our residents, everything from “What was your favourite school lunch?” to “Where was your favourite place you ever travelled to?”

Our residents absolutely loved being asked about their lives and sharing their stories 💬✨ The children even drew sketches of our residents, which was such a lovely and thoughtful touch 🖍️💜

We can’t wait to welcome Hendon Prep School back when the children will present their artwork to our residents and the families, a moment we’re all really looking forward to.

Moments like these mean so much 💜

Our seasonal dishes showcase an elevated dining experience while maintaining a strong focus on balanced nutrition, ensuring every meal supports the health and wellbeing of our residents. From hearty winter favourites to beautifully presented plates, our menus are designed to be both nourishing and enjoyable.

Food plays a central role in daily life at Signature, and our talented chefs take great pride in preparing meals that residents look forward to each day, using quality ingredients, seasonal inspiration, and plenty of care.

⚽️💚 What an afternoon at Hendon FC! 💚⚽️

We were delighted to be Boardroom Sponsors of last week’s game, where John, our resident Hendon superfan braved the cold to enjoy an exhilarating 4–4 draw!

John had a truly memorable day: he met the Hendon FC manager and chairman, chose the Man of the Match, and even presented them with a bottle of bubbly 🥂

A huge thank you to Hendon FC and Silver Jubilee Park Charitable Foundation for such a warm welcome and a fantastic afternoon of football and community spirit.

We’re already looking forward to returning in June for our big charity match (hopefully with much warmer weather! ☀️).
