Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can manifest in various ways, but here are some key symptoms:
1. Re-experiencing: This includes flashbacks, nightmares, and intrusive thoughts about the traumatic event. People may feel like they are reliving the trauma.
2. Avoidance: Individuals may avoid places, people, or activities that remind them of the trauma. They might also try to suppress memories or distract themselves from thinking about it.
3. Negative changes in thinking and mood: This can involve negative thoughts about oneself, persistent fear, shame, guilt, or a feeling of detachment from others.
4. Hyperarousal: People with PTSD may be easily startled, feel tense or "on edge," have difficulty sleeping, and exhibit irritability or angry outbursts.
5. Emotional numbing: This includes difficulty experiencing positive emotions, feeling detached from friends and family, and a lack of interest in activities once enjoyed.
These symptoms can vary in intensity and duration, and they may come and go over time.... you don't have to live with PTSD and you can make permanent change with IEMT Therapy.
