Forearm stretches are so important and often missed.
We use our arms a lot throughout the day and many things contribute to excess tension in the wrists/forearms (gardening, typing on a computer, sports which involve gripping I.e tennis, rowing, free weights.... To name a few).

Give these exercises a go but please keep a little bend in the elbow (don't hyperextend like I do) and put as much pressure through the arms as feels right for your body.

Happy stretching! πŸ™‚

Apparently it's an indicator of longevity to be able to get up without using your hands!
Here are 3 videos of me (looking very serious) showing ways of getting off the floor without using your hands.
Give it a try! 😊

Here's a demonstration of a pilates roll down. It's a great exercise to improve mobility in the spine and work on core control.
It also has the bonus of being able to do it anywhere with no equipment, though you may get strange looks if your start doing this on the tube!

Tuck the chin and then slowly roll through each vertebrae until you are in full flexion (this range will vary for everyone). You can feel how the spine is moving and if there are any 'sticky points' (the more you practice this the easier it will get). The spine is then gradually restacked as you roll back up.

It is not important to be able to touch your toes so please move within a comfortable range.

How to use a foam roller to release into your hamstrings.
Firstly using my other leg to decrease the pressure to the leg being rolled.
Then crossing the other leg over to top, of the leg being rolled, to increase the pressure.
I suggest just having a go and seeing what works best for you. It shouldn't be horribly painful but I'd be lying if I said it wasn't a bit uncomfortable!

Happy rolling! :)

Here is a quick video to show you how to use a foam roller to release the front of your lower leg (predominantly working on the tibialis anterior muscle).

It's important not to neglect this area whilst releasing your lower leg.
