I learnt what that weight feels like , how to support my body properly, learning where my strength is building.

So itโ€™s not perfection but slowly learning and being persistent.

We can hear the same advice for years, know exactly what would help us, and still we donโ€™t do it.

Why? Is it cos we just donโ€™t believe it will work or maybe because we are not ready โ€ฆ. We may even think โ€˜I will one dayโ€™.

For me, it was something so simple, a Gratitude Journal. Iโ€™d heard about it forever, along with affirmations. Iโ€™ve had gratitude buddies that lasted about three days, Iโ€™ve brought gratitude journals, they all just covered dust but now, every night, I write down three small things Iโ€™m thankful for and have for the past month. My own โ€˜What three wordsโ€™, and honestly, Iโ€™m loving it and things have changed more than I expected.

When you start looking for the good, you begin to see more of it. The small annoyances and inconveniences disappear and you become more kind, more productive and more patient. These are just some of the things Iโ€™ve noticed but there will be more the longer I do it, I know it. Itโ€™s been a month now and Iโ€™m truly enjoying it ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

So many benefits to be hadโ€ฆ reducing stress, improved happiness, promotes self-esteem and more of a positive outlook on lifeโ€ฆ. Why wouldnโ€™t you want this?

your workout doesnโ€™t have to be intense to be valuable.

Normally on a Friday at the gym Iโ€™ll do a full session, gym session, spin, TRX , the lot and I bloody love it and when I have the time, I definitely go for it.

But today my body wanted something else and I listened and thatโ€™s a powerful thing to do, especially in midlife. Listen to what our body needs.

So instead I did a gentle balance and core session with a little bit of strength work. Nothing dramaticโ€ฆ but I still got a sweat on and I still walked out feeling great.

And it reminded me of something important that we often forget, we donโ€™t always have to go hard and fast for it to count.

Movement is movement.
Healthy habits are healthy habits.

And there is absolutely no guilt in choosing the workout that supports you today.

We juggle full-time work, families, ageing parents, our health and for many of us, a business on the side too. And somewhere in all of that, weโ€™re expected to show up online. Post. Engage. Stay relevant.

So I stepped away for four weeks.

Not because I was overwhelmed.
Not because I couldnโ€™t cope.

I disappeared because I wanted space. Space to stop. To breathe. To align.

And that feels like strength.

Social media supports my business, it connects us, it gives us a voice, it creates opportunity but the fact I chose to step back anyway felt important.

So many women feel trapped by the noise, the algorithm, the pressure to be visible, to respond, to chase, to be validated by likes, love hearts and moreโ€ฆ itโ€™s a constant that is there every day and as a distraction too.

Stepping away was so refreshing.

No scrolling.
No comparing.
Just breathing room.

Technology can make life easier but only if weโ€™re still in control of it, donโ€™t let it take over.

Maybe the real power isnโ€™t always in showing up but knowing when to step away and not being afraid to do so.
