Today we were joined by Bramble Farm Carriage Hire, exceptionally turned out horses for the funeral of a much loved local man.

Due to a power outage our Henstridge office will be closed for the remainder of the day. SSE Estimate power to be restored at 4pm.

Our phones will be diverted to mobiles during this time but our access to information may be limited.

Due to emergency mains electrical works our Henstridge office is closed today due to having no power in the building. Our phones are on divert and will be answered as normal.

Peter Jackson Funeral Services are an independent family run funeral directors with an invaluable reputation for extremely high standards. We believe that every funeral should be unique and bespoke to the family we are working with.

Our long-established family business is currently seeking a funeral operative to join our existing team. As part of this role, you will be required to maintain the appearance of our vehicles to a high standard, driving our hearses and limousines as chauffeur and bearer at funeral services.

Additional roles would be available to a appropriate candidate of bringing deceased into our care from hospitals, nursing homes and private residence during office hours and be willing to take part in our on-call rota to cover out of office hours into care services as required.

Candidates should share our commitment to deliver a first-class caring service to families and clients, you will need to be well organised and client-focused with a professional approach. No previous experience is necessary as full training will be provided.

The successful candidate will be happy to work from our newly developed Henstridge site and also from our long standing Gillingham office as required.

Requirements
• Full UK driving licence (must be over 21 for insurance purposes)
• Smart appearance
• Physically able (manual handling required)
• Secondary education
• Out of hours rota participation
• Maintain confidentiality of all customer information

Our site at the old India Cottage on Shaftesbury Road has been broken into. We are appealing to anyone that may have seen any activity on the site between 4pm on Thursday 20th April and 8am on Friday 21st April.

UPDATE

We now have evidence that a man decided to help himself to our building materials. The theft took place between 2.30am and - 3.30am this morning (21st) and the timber was carried along Shaftesbury Road, Henstridge heading towards Shaftesbury. If anyone saw this we would gratefully appreciate any further information or any CCTV footage which we could pass to the police.

Progress report - The build of our new premises is going well. Unfortunately the cold weather today has put a stop to brick / block laying but it left us with a good opportunity to take some photos without getting in the builders way!
