Are you superstitious or just love a good mystery? Friday the 13th is here, and itโs a perfect day to talk about tech myths and legends. At Tea and Tech, weโre debunking the scariest tech superstitions:
Myth: Opening an email attachment will always give you a virus. Reality: While itโs wise to be cautious, not all attachments are harmful. Just ensure you trust the sender and have up-to-date antivirus software and don't click on any link or attachment.
Myth: Macs donโt get viruses. Reality: Macs can and do get viruses, so itโs important to have good security measures in place, regardless of your operating system.
Myth: Incognito mode keeps you completely anonymous. Reality: Incognito mode doesnโt hide your activity from your employer, internet service provider, or the websites you visit. Itโs mainly useful for not saving your browsing history.
Celebrate "Almost-Friday the 13th" by breaking free from tech myths and learning something new! If you have any tech superstitions or questions, drop by Tea and Tech in Hereford โ I'm here to help.
