Humber Woodland of Remembrance

Today, we were joined by lots of lovely members of our Humber Woodland family, who came along to make their loved ones an environmentally friendly Christmas wreath.🎄

Thank you to all those who came and supported us and our chosen charity 'Hereford Open Door'*. We raised a fantastic £300 for them! It was so nice to see and to chat to so many of you, it is always a super day where everyone supports each other, all the wreaths were beautiful and unique.💚

Big thank you to Shirley and Carol for all their help again! Also to Steph from Wegnalls Willow for the willow wreaths (a rather last minute order).

We were delighted that Kate from Cherished Funerals celebrant Fiona could join us too.

We thank you for your support with only bringing environmentally friendly wreaths to Humber, we want to reduce our 'waste to landfill' to zero where possible.

*Hereford Open Door is a local independent charity. who provide a hot breakfast and a packed lunch to the homeless and people in need, including those in temporary or sub-standard accommodation, and somewhere where people can meet their friends in a friendly welcoming environment.

This Saturday (6th Dec) is our Wreath Making Day. For those who have their loved ones buried at Humber, we will be in the shelter from 10am to 2pm with everything you will need. We will have some hand-made wreath bases, and some willow ones which can be bought. If your preference is for a willow base, there will be a charge of £3.🎄

If you are not attending, just a gentle reminder, please make sure that any wreaths placed on graves over Christmas are environmentally friendly where possible, i.e. no plastic and no wire. You are welcome to place cut flowers (with no packaging) if you prefer.

We thank you for your help in keeping Humber Woodland free of items destined for landfill. 💚

We’ve had a mix of weather over the past few days, and this afternoon we’re getting quite a downpour. Some of the trees have struggled with the dry weather of the summer, so we're grateful they are getting a good soaking now!

When the sun has been out, though, the colours of the leaves have been absolutely stunning! 🍂🍁
