If you've been to, or are coming down to the surgery today, you may notice our staff members wearing festive attire! That's because we are supporting and joining in on Save the Children's Christmas Jumper Day! 🎄✨

Did you know? 🤔

The money raised through the Christmas Jumper Day campaign can help support kids and families who are having to deal with an increasingly volatile world. Over £40 million has been raised since the inaugural Christmas Jumper Day in 2012!

So, that's why today, our members of staff are joining in, adding to that incredible total thus far!

As the Christmas Jumper Day slogan goes:

"Join us in making the world better in a sweater!"

Here to help our patients get prepared this Christmas Season! 🎄

Our Christmas Opening Hours are now available 👇🏼

‼️IMPORTANT INFORMATION‼️

If you find that you need health advice during the hours the practice is closed, please use a local pharmacy, NHS 111 or the Minor Injury Units. A&E and/or 999 should be used for life threatening emergencies only 🚑

We ask all of our patients to ensure that you order any repeat prescriptions in good time as we and the pharmacy need to process them and get them ready for collection. We've also already had a number of requests to double up on prescriptions. Please refrain from requesting this as it is not necessary over the Christmas and New Year period.

It may also be a benefit to have basic health remedies to hand, such as pain relief, digestive remedies and simple first aid items.

Wishing all our patients, staff and wider healthcare colleagues a healthy, happy and safe Christmas and New Year!!!

On Tuesday was said a sad farewell to Rosie Williams, one of our Practice Nurses 👋🏼

Rosie joined us in March 2024 and has really enjoyed her time in primary care, which she has combined with work on the AMU (Acute Medical Unit) at the hospital. She will continue to work on AMU but will also now be working two days each week on the day unit at the Charles Renton Unit.

Rosie leaves with our sincere thanks and best wishes for her future nursing career! ✨

Today is International Day of Persons with Disabilities!

An awareness day established by the United Nations, International Day of Persons with Disabilities, or IDPD, is all about raising awareness about the challenges faced by people with disabilities and to promote their full and equal participation in all aspects of society. It serves as a platform to advocate for the rights and dignity of individuals with disabilities 💙

We at Ryeland Surgery are delighted that the first Queenswood Park Run took place this past Saturday morning 🙌🏼

128 runners and 26 volunteers were there for this historic first run. It will now continue every Saturday morning at 9 am and we warmly encourage our staff and patients to participate. Runners and walkers are equally welcome.

More details can be found on Queenswood's Parkrun page: 👇🏼

If you missed our post a couple of weeks ago, the surgery has signed up as a "Park Run Practice" with the Royal College of GPs. This means we actively support and promote our local Park Run. The benefits of exercise, time outside and social interaction in a truly friendly environment cannot be over emphasised.

We look forward to seeing many of you there! ✨

It's the Autumn 2025 Parent/Carer Voice Herefordshire Annual Survey of SEND Services, courtesy of Herefordshire Council and the ICS (Integrated Care System).

Are you a parent or carer in Herefordshire and have a child/young person (aged 0-25) with any disability or additional needs? This year's survey is now available for you to complete!

It covers key areas such as health, social care, education and community support, and asks what’s working well and where improvements are needed. The information you share will directly shape how services are developed and improved across Herefordshire. This isn’t about ticking boxes for inspections—it’s about making real, meaningful changes that support families.

More information can be found in the survey link above! 👆🏼

As most of us long-time Leominster residents know, the town that we call home has had quite a varied and interesting bout of history. But, what about it's medical history? 🩺

From supposedly being the home to the first known British female doctors, to the local pharmacy selling medication which contained illicit, although not back then, drugs. The town has had it's fair share of medical moments!

We've shared a few of these in the image below 👇🏼

Thank you to the Heritage Walk Team for sharing them with us.
