We have been made aware that the roadworks on Roman Road have been causing a lot of delays in and around Whitecross area.
If you are travelling from this direction for an appointment at the centre you may need allow yourself a little extra time during the period of this work.
TRAVEL ⚠️ | IMPORTANT TRAVEL INFO - ROMAN ROAD CLOSURE IN HEREFORD (3rd November - 28th November) ⛔️
Motorists are being warned to expect major disruption in the Roman Road, Credenhill, Stretton Sugwas and surrounding areas from tomorrow with roadworks in place until the end of the month and a full road closure in place.
From Herefordshire Highways:
“We need to let you know about some works we're due to do on A4103 Roman Road at the junction of Towtree Lane. We will be carrying out some essential drainage works.
“The works will be taking place under a full road closure, from Monday 3 November 2025, and the project is expected to take up to four weeks to complete.
“The type of works we're doing will mean that the road will be closed for 24 hours each day.
“The fully signed diversion route via A4110 Whitecross / A438 King's Acre / A480
Stretton Sugwas and vice versa.
“There will be marshals on site during the works to assist with any queries regarding access.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Balfour Beatty Living Places, working on behalf of Herefordshire Council, will be carrying out important upgrades to the road and area near the houses, as residents have suffered damage from flooding over the years, we aim to minimise the impact of our work and try to keep all disruption to a minimum, we appreciate your patience.
“The programme of work may change in certain circumstances, such as severe weather. This may happen at short notice and without further notification. All changes will be highlighted on the advance warning signs, which you'll find onsite at the roadworks.
