St Michael's Hospice - Hereford

St Michael's Hospice - Hereford St Michael's Hospice is an independent charity that exists to help, support and care for patients

As a charity, we need to raise over £5.8 million a year to ensure we can continue to provide our care and support for free. 74% of this funding comes from our local community through donations and fundraising events. Our multi-disciplinary team includes doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, complementary therapists, social workers, chaplains and counsellors. Specialist Hospice staff work together and often in partnership with the NHS to relieve patients’ symptoms, control their pain and help them to live well until the end of life. We provide Inpatient services, hospice daycare and support for patients in a range of settings, including their homes. We are also there to ensure loved ones have access to the appropriate care and support they need to cope with the complex feelings and lifestyle changes caused by a terminal illness. Supporting your Hospice
St Michael’s Hospice provides all its care free of charge to patients, their families and carers. This care is made possible by supporters taking part in fundraising events, playing our lottery, shopping at our retail outlets, making charitable donations and leaving gifts in their wills.

Did you know that gardening can be a powerful source of joy for our patients? 🌱💛

Whether it’s planting seeds, trimming herbs, or simply feeling the sun and soil, these moments help people stay connected to nature and to themselves.

As Kate, one of our Occupational Therapists, says: “For many patients, being able to continue gardening is hugely important.”

We’d love to hear from you: What’s your favourite thing to grow, or what plant always brightens your day? 🌼👇 This Christmas, a £35 donation could fund a horticultural therapy session for someone who would truly benefit from it.

A wonderful weekend of Wreath Making at our Whitestone Superstore 🤩🎄

Our lovely guests got stuck in and made some fantastic wreaths - here are a few photos of their creations 👀 All the materials were sustainably sourced - many items used were kindly donated by supporters and colleagues, including two Christmas trees and a bundle of dried flowers!

Thank you to everyone that helped make this workshops happen, especially Avril from FoodFriendsFlowers who donated her time and expertise to help us run these workshops and raise money for the Hospice 🥰
