As some of you may already know, I've just
started my 3rd trimester.

If you've ever experienced small, white bumps on your
face or body that are difficult to get rid of, you've
most likely experienced milia.

🔎What are Milia?
Milia are small cysts made up of keratin trapped
underneath the surface of the skin. Keratin is an
important protein in the hair and nails, and it can feel
strong and rough to the touch when it becomes built
up under the skin. This can make them difficult to
treat. Most often, they occur around the cheeks, nose,
eyes, forehead, and chest, but can occur anywhere
They can often be mistaken for a pimple that never
fully develops.

🔎What Causes Milia?
There are many different types of milia which are
unique because they can often occur in infants,
although the cause is unknown. In children and
adults, milia are often caused by damage to the skin
or cases where the skin's ability to naturally exfoliate
is compromised. This can include blistering injuries
like burns or sunburn. Certain skincare procedures
can also contribute to milia.

🔎Milia Maintenance
To prevent milia in the long-term, Start with:
Regular Exfoliation- Make sure your routines
effective! Products that boost exfoliation and cell
turnover keep the skin smooth and thin from dead
skin, minimizing milia and preventing them from
recurring.
" Professional removal - Treatments can be done
to accelerate removal. However, don't do this at
home... Improper technique can cause excess skin
trauma leading to hyperpigmentation (dark marks) or
even permanent scarring.
" Prevention - Sun damage is a known contributor to

I saw Maria today for my first ever session of Lumi Eyes and she is MAGIC! ✨ She is so kind, so knowledgeable and so gentle.. I didn't even feel a thing and I didn't bruise at all! The under eye area feels all nice and cool and tingly, so I know it's working it's magic already and I'm excited for the results.
