It was Party time at Newstead this afternoon.🥳 Residents invited staff and their children to join them. We had a good old fashion game of pass the parcel. Which took the residents more time to wrap, than the children unwrapping. 😩A game of Ballon and musical statues. Residents are in the full Christmas spirit!😊Living our Best Lives

Newstead welcomes Christmas inside.🎄 Residents have taken on the task of putting up the trees and decorating . 💪 While having Christmas songs in the background and singing in full voice ! 🎶😁

Newstead residents have been getting crafty for Christmas! They are also working extremely hard on their acting skills for the Panto! Go on, someone say 'Oh No they haven't!' 🤣

We had the lovely Diana, a Harpist visit today.😁 Everyone was mesmerised by the sound of the harp. They found the music incredibly soothing. 😌 Resident were able to test their musical talents too!🎵

What an amazing morning Residents had.😊 We managed to visit town today. Thank you to Dial a Ride, our lovely Jayjay, Emily and Liz. 💥You all made this possible. We looked around, did some shopping and had a cuppa. We also popped in to see Kerry at , which was lovely for Residents to see, as we donate baked goods to them regularly. 🍰 Shopping trips people take for granted, but the Newstead residents truly cherish these moments . 💛

Today we were part of a Celebration of Life. This was in memory of Sheila. 🌹We all lifted a glass in her memory. We had some fabulous music and Sheila's daughter, grandchildren and close friends danced in her honour. A beautiful afternoon to remember a very special lady! ❤️

We baked our first batch of mince pies ! 🥧
Residents have also been extremely busy writing and casting Newstead House's Pantomime. We will let you know when the performance is due to take place. The props and parts of costumes arrived today. Ali jumped straight into the character! 😂 Shame she isn't cast as Cruella, a Resident wanted to play her! But which one .......🤔

What a busy week or 2 the Residents of Newstead House have had. We have got all the Christmas cakes made!😋 Residents enjoyed tasting the mix once we were done. 2 cakes will be donated to . We've had our friends ,the Gadzukes Ukulele Players . 💃 We also celebrated Fireworks night. We had Smores and virtual Fireworks via our new projector. Everyone got to see Fireworks no matter where they were in the Home!🎆We have also braved the cooler weather and been on a few walks to Churchill Gardens. Living our Best Lives
