Much-loved BBC Holby City character, Carole Copeland (played by Julia Deakin), was diagnosed with vascular dementia in the show earlier this year. Tonight's programme will begin the development of Carole’s story as her dementia progresses in the coming months, highlighting key moments along her journey.

We've worked with the programme's team on the story, reviewing scripts and giving feedback on the portrayal of dementia. Find out more in our Q&A with producers, Seán Gleeson and Ben Wadey, where we discuss highlighting dementia and what they hope viewers will take away from the story: https://bit.ly/30zghFw

Catch the episode at 8.20pm tonight on BBC One.

Did you tune in to watch Channel 4's Help last night? Let us know what you thought in the comments below.

The drama, starring Jodie Comer and Stephen Graham, is set in a fictional care home in Liverpool at the start of 2020. Comer plays a care home worker who befriends a man living with young-onset dementia (Graham) as the Covid-19 pandemic hits the UK.

We supported the programme’s production team during the development of the script, to ensure the depiction of living with dementia was as accurate as possible. Find out more about Help on the Channel 4 website: channel4.com/programmes/help
