I am a Mat level 3 qualified Pilates teacher, I have been teaching since 2010 & have practiced Pilates since 2002. I offer both group and private one to one classes in the Herefordshire and Powys area. In addition I run a private Facebook Group where I share weekly prerecorded classes as well delivering live weekly Zoom classes. Pilates lengthens & strengthens all the muscle groups and in particular those deep core muscles, which are so important to our overall health and well being. Pilates practiced on a regular basis can have numerous benefits: improved strength, flexibility,coordination, balance & most importantly our posture.

L is for Laughter 😊
Laughter has such a powerful impact on our wellbeing …it lifts our mood, eases anxiety & helps build emotional resilience.
When I’m teaching, my aim is of course to guide you through mindful movement, breath, posture and muscle engagement… but also to make the experience enjoyable.
You’ve probably noticed how one giggly moment in class can shift the whole atmosphere. It softens tension, lifts the energy and brings us together. I like to think my studio space is where everyone feels free to breathe, move and let go a little.
Tension in the body is so often tied to stress. When we laugh, our diaphragm moves, the breath releases and the whole body gets a chance to reset. The areas that hold tension : the neck, shoulders & jaw finally get a moment to relax.
Shared laughter also strengthens the trust between me as teacher and you as client, helping build an inclusive community and a real sense of belonging.
Keep the giggles coming…they’re little breaths of wellbeing for the soul 🩷

Grasshopper on the Reformer needs practice & patience.
Grasshopper is a test of spinal extension, glute strength, and shoulder stability.
It takes time to find the right balance between control & lift … but with consistent practice, the movement does starts to become more fluid and connected through the whole posterior chain…… bendy legs in working progress 🦵🦵
For me a real challenge of strength, control & confidence all at once.

November Timetable 🍁
This month, all classes are prop-free …. a chance to refine technique & focus on Pilates’ key principles of precision and control.
We’ll emphasise centre strength and stability, further working on Side Bend, Leg Pull & integrating Push Up & as always …guided by breath.
‘Sometimes, the simplest approach delivers the most powerful results’.
Our NovemberSuper Saturday is the 15th .. fancy joining .. let me know.
Reformer private sessions will continue … times scheduled around the group mat classes.

T is for Time …..
& something I’ve always obsessed over ⏰
However, in Pilates, time isn’t just about the clock… it’s about being present, prepared & intentional from the first move.
When we slow down & take time…we start to feel the depth of movement as well as noticing balance & imbalances.
That’s the power of time in Pilates: when we allow ourselves time, awareness grows and with that awareness comes Control and Flow.

As we near the end of October, what a full & fabulous month it’s been with the Pilates Magic Circle! 🌀
This small but mighty prop has helped us build strength, improve alignment, enhance body awareness & bring more control and precision to every move.
This week we’ll wrap up our Circle fun….setting us up beautifully for prop-free November, where we’ll carry that same strength and focus from within.

Plus a Super Saturday session : Sat 15 Nov… ☺️

I am a fully qualified Mat level 3 Pilates teacher with over 18 years Pilates experience. I had the wonderful opportunity to train with Micheal King & Malcolm Muirhead (Qualified @ MK Pilates in 2012). I regularly keep myself update with a variety of online learning as well as attending specific training workshops.
I offer group, online and private one to one classes in the Herefordshire and Powys area. My mat classes are suitable for beginners to those looking to improve. To bring variety to classes I use Pilates light equipment eg Foam Rollers, Therabands, Loop Bands, Soft Balls, Weighted Balls etc
In class I create an environment that encourages concentration but I also recognize that there are times when clients need to interact thus ensuring everyone learns effectively and indeed each are working to their own capability.
Pilates practiced on a regular basis can truly make a difference :- lengthen & strengthen all the muscle groups and in particular those deep stabilizing abdominal and glute muscles. Pilates uniquely connects mind to body and allows us time to think about how we move and in turn encourage us to move better and more freely. Additional benefits include improved posture, strength, flexibility,coordination and balance..
