🎄✨ Wreath Making at Lynhales Hall! ✨🎄

Our residents had a fantastic time getting creative with Angie from Herefordshire Growing Point, making beautiful Christmas wreaths to decorate the home.

It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying the festive spirit while adding their own personal touch to our Christmas decorations!

We had a wonderful afternoon filled with singing, dancing, laughter, and smiles as our residents enjoyed festive tunes with the talented Sean Saye.

🎄🧝‍♂️ Elf Day at Lynhales Hall! 🧝‍♀️🎄

Yesterday our amazing staff went all-out for Elf Day, dressing up as the naughtiest elves to raise awareness and support for the Alzheimer's Society.

Their festive outfits brought plenty of fun, laughter and joy as residents and families gathered under our Christmas tree to celebrate together.

Elf Day is a wonderful event that helps shine a light on dementia and supports the incredible work of the Alzheimer’s Society — and we were proud to play our part.

🎄 Christmas Begins at Lynhales Hall! 🎄

Today we brought in and decorated our beautiful 18ft Christmas tree, a cherished Lynhales tradition. Residents and staff worked together to put up the tree, sharing festive memories and enjoying Christmas songs throughout the morning.

A touching moment came as one resident, sitting with his wife, was moved to tears watching the tree go up — a reminder of how special this season is for so many.

Hearing Training at Lynhales Hall

Our staff recently took part in a hearing awareness training session with Andrew Goodwin and Padraic Garrett from Engage Hearing.

The session aimed to help our team understand how hearing loss can affect communication, particularly with residents living with dementia. The 18 staff members who attended left feeling enlightened, with new insights and strategies to support residents more effectively.

We’re excited to see our team putting their new knowledge into practice to make everyday communication even easier and more enjoyable for everyone!

Celebrating the Life of Norman Whittall

We would like to take a moment to celebrate the life of Norman Whittall, a much-loved resident at Lynhales Hall for just over three years. Norman was a truly special part of our Lynhales family and brought joy, warmth, and laughter to everyone around him.

Norman was well-known and respected in the local community, particularly for his years as a pub landlord, where he formed strong connections and lasting friendships throughout the area. Many of you will also recognise him from our page, as he was often photographed enjoying activities and joining in with our events.

A few days after Norman passed away, his wife, Janet, visited Lynhales Hall with flowers and gifts for the staff who had helped make his time with us so memorable and fulfilling—a touching reminder of the positive impact he had on everyone he met.

Norman was a wonderful character whose kindness, humour, and community spirit will be fondly remembered by residents, staff, and all who knew him.

🎄 Our Christmas Tree Has Arrived! 🎄

We’re excited to share that our 18ft Christmas tree has been delivered and is ready to go up on 1st December here at Lynhales Hall Nursing Home.

A big thank you to R Jenkins & Sons Ltd, Hay-on-Wye, for providing us with another beautiful tree.

Festivities are definitely starting to take shape, and we’re looking forward to decorating and making the home feel wonderfully festive over the coming days!

A Bus Ride Adventure at Lynhales Hall

As part of our Happiness Programme, residents enjoyed a simulated bus journey, taking in the sights and scenery from the comfort of our lounge. Terry and Sylvia were fully engaged throughout, enjoying every moment of the experience.

To make the trip even sweeter, our Chef Paula treated everyone to delicious cake during the ride!

The Happiness Programme, developed by Social-Ability, uses interactive light technology to create meaningful and enjoyable experiences for individuals with cognitive challenges, encouraging social interaction, fun, and emotional well-being.

At Lynhales, we joined in the fun to mark National Play Monopoly Day yesterday! Residents enjoyed gathering together to play this iconic board game, sharing laughs, friendly competition, and some clever property deals along the way.

It was a wonderful way to connect, have fun, and celebrate a game that brings people together across generations! 💛

At Lynhales, residents enjoyed a fun colouring activity, bringing Pudsey Bear to life while raising awareness for Children in Need. It was a lovely way to be creative and support a great cause!

🎃 Creative Flower Arranging at Lynhales Hall! 🌸

Our residents got creative this week, using pumpkins as vases to make beautiful autumn-inspired flower arrangements. The finished displays are now brightening up the home and bringing a touch of seasonal cheer to everyone.
