On Monday 8th Jan at about 10.30am my son Mark Pratley dropped his wallet in School Lane, Herne. He would love to have it returned, even without the cash (£85) and Sainsbury’s voucher which was his Christmas present. The other cards and ID are valuable to him. It’s been a double win week!! First win came when I heard the news that a lovely lady with osteoarthritis was awarded Attendance Allowance. She was initially refused and we worked on a mandatory reconsideration. She has been awarded the enhanced rate 🌟
Second win was a gentleman with a learning disability and autism that I completed a PIP (personal independence payment) form for and supported him through the face to face assessment. He has just heard that he has been awarded his claim. Good news all round.

Great success story this morning for an older lady, she has received the higher rate of attendance allowance. She fought a sturdy battle against cancer, leaving her with a stoma and lasting effects from radiotherapy.

Good morning, let me know if you need any help claiming PIP (personal independence payments) for the first time. This is a working age benefit that is non means tested. It can be for any sort of condition or disability. You are assessed on how your condition or disability affects you. I have a wealth of knowledge in completing this form. I heard today that a lovely older gentleman I have been working with has received the higher rate of Attendance Allowance. A much needed boost to his household income.

Are you state pension age or older, or have friends/relatives that are?
Do they have support or care needs (however small)?
They could be receiving a non-means tested benefit.

Yesterday I heard that a Blue Badge is on it’s way to a lovely lady that I helped who very much needs it. She doesn’t claim any other benefits, so applying for it wasn’t straightforward. It is so important to remain independent when mobility is an issue.
