The Kent Boccia Championships 2019 held at King Henry's Sports Centre, Erith on Sunday 17th November featured 11 teams from across Kent, from Bexley, Dartford, Gillingham, Thanet and Herne Bay. The event was organised by Janet Swann from Bexley Dodgers Boccia club. Boccia England referees and liners officiated, many thanks to them all for giving up their day, especially as they had been officiating at the Heathcoat Cup at Crawley the previous day. The Lady Mayor and her Es**rt presented the awards. The standard of play was very high, so we are very proud that Herne Bay Boccia Club teams played so well bringing home Gold and Bronze awards. Added to this, our new team Herne Bay Sandpipers were awarded the Gerry Wooder Memorial Trophy. This trophy is awarded for 'Endeavour in the Spirit of Boccia'.
