You learn how your body works, how to breath consciously and move with awareness to meditate. You can also study the seminal text of yoga so that the next time that thought arises you know how to deal with it.

Most yoga teachers cannot explain the difference between yoga and exercise. There is a right and wrong answer to this question and the classical teaching on this hold as true today as it ever has.
