โค๏ธ Bridgit on the BBC: Shining a Light on Devonโs 162,000 Unpaid Carers & Torbay Launch! ๐ก
We were delighted to see unpaid carers take centre stage on BBC Radio Devon this week to celebrate their success with Bridgit as their go to support tool. With around 162,000 people in Devon providing care every day, the programme highlighted just how vital their role is in our communities.
During the interview, Rohan Davidson, Carers Development Manager, explained how Bridgit has been designed to make it easier for carers to get the right advice when they need it. Instead of searching through pages of generic information, carers can now quickly find personalised guidance based on their own situation โ simple, relevant and easy to action.
A local carer, Ali, also joined the discussion to share her experience after interacting with Bridgit over the past week. She talked about how reassuring it felt to receive focused, structured support tailored to her caring role. Hearing feedback like this directly from carers is exactly why we built Bridgit in the first place.
Over the weekend, we also celebrated a key milestone in Torbay. Darren joined local carers and community members at Paignton Library for the official launch event. It was wonderful to see people exploring the tool, asking questions, and finding out how Bridgit can help them day-to-day.
The message throughout both the broadcast and the event was clear: carers matter, and giving them simple, personalised support can make a real difference. Weโre proud to be supporting carers across Devon and excited for the future!
