Swan House Memory Café – Bridlington
Swan House Day Care Centre is delighted to invite members of the community to a special Memory Café taking place on Friday 20 March from 3pm – 5pm at its welcoming centre on Victoria Road in Bridlington.

The Memory Café offers a relaxed and friendly environment where people can come together over a cup of tea and good conversation. It is a warm, supportive space designed for people living with memory loss, including dementia, as well as their family members, friends and carers. Whether you are looking to meet new people, share experiences or simply enjoy some company in a comfortable setting, everyone is welcome.

Ponies Bring Smiles to Residents at Hampden House
Residents at Hampden House recently enjoyed a very special visit when a pair of friendly ponies trotted into the home for an afternoon of animal therapy.

The visit was arranged with the help of KL Pony Therapy, a specialist service that brings gentle, well-trained ponies into care settings to provide therapeutic interactions and companionship.

Residents gathered to meet, stroke and spend time with the ponies, with many sharing stories of horses they had known earlier in their lives. The unexpected visitors quickly became the stars of the afternoon, bringing laughter, conversation and plenty of photo opportunities.

The visit was made possible thanks to funding from HICA’s SHINE Fund. The SHINE Committee recently decided to give every HICA service a special gift by funding an event chosen by each home. Hampden House selected the pony therapy visit, ensuring residents could enjoy a unique and memorable experience together.
