We are currently experiencing phone problems with our phone lines so we cannot answer or make calls. Our telecoms supplier is working to resolve the problem. If you have an emergency please dial 999 and request an ambulance. An update will be posted here or on our website once the system is working again. We would expect a high volume of calls once the system is working normally. We apologise for the inconvenience.

Covid-19 Vaccination - Update 22.9.21
The NHS has started to send out text messages and emails inviting patients to book a booster vaccination through the national booking service, either online or by calling 119.
Please note that there are currently no local venues offering appointments through the national booking service. Locally it is likely that the Hexham Mart site will re-open in the coming 2-3 weeks to offer booster vaccinations. We are unsure at the present time whether the re-opened Mart site will be using the national booking service or if local GP practices will be contacting patients to make appointments, just as we did for the first phase of the programme from December to June. We will update you once we know more.
Please note that even when the Mart site is open it will not be offering Flu vaccinations. We are continuing to book our flu clinics and patients are advised to book their flu jab while they wait for their covid vaccination. THE ADVICE FROM NHS IS NOT TO DELAY GETTING YOUR FLU JAB.

Covid-19 Vaccination
The NHS plans to offer a booster covid-19 vaccine to everyone over 50 as well as people in at-risk groups. Patients will be contacted to make an appointment in due course. Locally it is likely that the Hexham Mart site will re-open in the coming weeks to offer booster vaccinations. The Mart site will not be offering flu vaccinations.

We are continuing to book our flu clinics and patients are advised to book their flu jab while they wait for their covid vaccination invitation, which may be weeks or months away. The advice from the NHS is not to delay getting your flu jab.

All patients aged 50+ are eligible for a free flu vaccine this year. We will be holding several Saturday clinics, starting on 18th September and 2nd October. If you wish to have a flu vaccine this year please book an appointment either online or by phoning us on 01434 603627.
We will write to children in at-risk groups once we know when the nasal vaccine is available to order and we will hold mid-week clinics.
The vaccines that we will be using this year are:
For the vast majority of children aged 2-17 years we will be using Fluenz Tetra as in previous years. The product information leaflet explains more about the vaccine. For a few children who cannot have a live vaccine we will be using an alternative injectable vaccine.
For adult patients aged 18-64 we have been using two vaccines and the product information leaflets are available to read for Influvac and Flucelvax. Flucelvax can also be given to patients aged 65+ though we would routinely use Fluad for this group if we have sufficient supplies. The product information leaflet for Fluad explains that this vaccine contains an adjuvant which is added to boost the immune response.
