Remembrance Service at Ridley Manor 🕊️

Today, residents came together for a heartfelt Remembrance-themed Church service, led by Pastor Scott and the wonderful team from Elim Hope Church: Lane End. The afternoon was filled with hymns, reflection, and togetherness, a beautiful time to honour and remember those who served and sacrificed. ❤️

Moments like these remind us of the strength of community, faith, and shared remembrance. 🌹

This week the residents enjoyed bonfire celebrations inside the home, Sara from the lifestyle team created a bonfire for the residents to sit around, they enjoyed listening to bonfire poems being read out, reminiscing about camping days sitting round the bonfire, they then enjoyed a sing along to a variety of scout camping songs, followed by coffee and cake, the only thing we were missing was toasted marshmallows

Heddi from Kiddleydivey Maidenhead, High Wycombe, Wendover - Adults performed a fabulous session with the residents this week, there were many songs commemorating remembrance day, - they sang, danced and shared tears, they all thoroughly enjoyed the session. Each session encourages gentle exercise, activity and social interaction, whilst stimulating memory function and conversation

The residents thoroughly enjoyed entertainment this week from Jolly Old Time Entertainment, the lively and engaging musical performance, with many a costume change, had residents singing, clapping, with smiles all around, bringing back some wonderful memories.

What a spooktacular evening we had yesterday, serving cocktails witches brew and draculas blood. Lots of tasty spooky treats made by the amazing kitchen team. Thank you to all the trick or treaters who came to say hello to the residents, they all looked fantastic in their Halloween outfits.

In yesterday's Art class with Jan the residents enjoyed painting their very own facemasks with bright colours, ready to wear for this afternoons Halloween party, this proved to be a popular activity, giving the residents a chance to bring out their creative side.

As Halloween approaches, the residents are beginning to bubble with excitement, getting ready to welcome in the children from the local community.

Today pumpkin carving ignited their Halloween spirt, with lots of fun and bewitching laughter. Creating some amazing spooktacular designs.

Spooky Creativity in Full Swing at Ridley Manor! 🎃🕸️
Residents had a fang-tastic time this week during a Halloween-themed craft session with Aimee from Rex and Rose. Together, they created beautiful paper suncatchers!

It was wonderful to see so much imagination and laughter fill the room as everyone got into the Halloween spirit. The residents’ creativity truly shines through in every piece they made! 🌟

Even though the weather outside was grey, residents brought sunshine indoors with a beautiful indoor gardening session this week. Led by Charlotte and Sara, they filled pots with soil and planted a lovely variety of violas, pansies, primroses, and more, adding colour and life to the home. 🌸 🪴
Gardening offers so much more than just blossoms; it nurtures calmness, focus, and a true sense of achievement. The smiles on everyone’s faces said it all: a little nature goes a long way in brightening the day. 💚

A Lovely Afternoon at Flowerland Garden Centres 🌸 🌿
What a delightful afternoon residents had on their outing to the Bourne End Garden Centre yesterday! The weather couldn’t have been better as everyone enjoyed wandering through the beautiful aisles, from vibrant plants and fragrant soaps to fascinating aquariums and charming puzzles.
There was plenty of laughter (and shopping!) along the way, with some residents even getting a head start on their Christmas gifts. 🎁
We rounded off the trip with a cosy stop at the café for a well-deserved cuppa, the perfect end to a lovely day out. ☕
