🌍👨⚕️Today is International Men’s Day, so we are shining a light on men’s health in Buckinghamshire and the support available for physical and mental wellbeing.
Did you know:
• Men in Buckinghamshire live 81 years on average, but spend around 15 years in poorer health
• In Bucks, coronary heart disease is more than twice as common in men (4.7%) than women (2%)
• Around 50 people die by su***de each year locally, and men are twice as likely to take their own life, with the highest risk among men aged 40–49.
Men aged 40 to 74 are eligible for a free NHS Health Check. It’s quick and straightforward to do, and afterwards the assessor will talk you through what your results mean and give you specific advice on small lifestyle changes you can make today to give you more tomorrows.
