Endometriosis affects millions, yet so many people are still left wondering whether their symptoms “count.” If you’ve ever questioned whether your pain is normal, or you just want to understand this condition better, this carousel breaks down the basics - from what endometriosis actually is to the signs worth paying attention to and how it can be managed.
Endometriosis doesn’t just affect periods - it can impact the bladder and bowel too, and those symptoms are often the ones people talk about the least. If you’ve ever wondered whether your digestive or urinary symptoms could be connected, this guide is a great place to start.
We’ve created a free, easy‑to‑read resource that breaks down how endometriosis can affect the bladder and bowel, what signs to look out for, and how to speak to a clinician about it.

“I was so nervous to talk about being intimate…”

It’s a feeling many of our Welland ostomates have experienced, opening up about intimacy after stoma surgery can be emotional, overwhelming, and sometimes difficult to talk about.

This Valentine’s Day, we want to help give our patients the confidence boost they deserve. Feeling like yourself again, expressing your needs, and having open conversations with your partner should feel possible and you’re not alone in that journey.
Michelle recently shared her story with us, explaining, “I was so nervous to talk about being intimate… and so was he.”

Her honesty is a powerful reminder that many couples face the same worries, and conversation is often the first step toward feeling more at ease.
Curious?

Have a read through Michelle’s experience and let us know your thoughts in the comments. Your voice might help someone else feel less alone.

How do I stay active without overthinking it?

January can feel overwhelming, and many people start strong only to give up after a few weeks. The key? Start small and stay consistent.

- Give your body time to ease back into movement after the festive season
- Begin with simple steps – short walks, light stretches, or a gentle jog
- Remember: It’s not about doing a lot at once, it’s about doing a little every day

We’ve created an Exercise Guide to help you feel confident and safe while staying active with a stoma.

January can be a tough month for many of us - shorter days, colder weather, and fewer social interactions can make loneliness feel heavier than usual.

For people living with a stoma, these feelings can be even more intense. Confidence dips, routines shift, and everyday tasks can feel harder, especially during a month that already challenges our well-being.

If you or a loved one is finding this time of year difficult, you’re not alone. We’ve created a series of free stoma guides filled with practical advice on building confidence, managing routines, and overcoming social avoidance - all designed to offer support when it’s needed most.

Ever thought about what alcohol does to your bladder? It’s more than just dehydration — alcohol can irritate the bladder lining, triggering urgency and making symptoms worse.
Taking a break this January can ease urgency, improve hydration, and support better bladder health.
