I have responsibility for the day to day running of the clinic, and as a co-director of the larger Foot Medic Group I work closely with a national network of podiatry clinics through our joint venture program helping them to help more patients using the Foot Medic model. This means that often my work takes place behind the scenes or by helping manage our growing network of clinics across the country. That’s why I’ve developed my best team of podiatrist and administrators to keep our clinics running smoothly and deliver the high standard I expect. This means that I know when I’m not there, my team operate in line with the vision and the values of our clinic. Having said that I still love being a clinician, and that is what I am first and foremost, so I always try to maintain some clinical time each week throughout our various clinics.
Before training as a podiatrist I worked through other roles in the regional burns and plastic surgery unit, RVH Belfast and have executed roles in many disciplines such as dermatology and general practice. In practice, I have a keen interest in surgical procedures.
I am a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, formally sitting on the podiatric medicine faculty board. I’m the former secretary for the Glasgow branch of the College of Podiatry.
I truly believe that Foot Medic has led and remains at the forefront of change within our profession. Together with my team we have worked to build a truly patient centred, comprehensive and excellent service. Podiatry genuinely excites me and I want to demonstrate just how life changing it can be.
