2025 was a busy year for us at Springkell House. One of the proudest moments for the team was receiving an overall rating of ‘Good’ in our CQC inspection.
Shortly after our wonderful Home Manager, Jogi, took on the role, we were visited by CQC inspectors, who assessed the home based on key criteria including ‘safe’, ‘caring’, ‘effective’, and ‘well-led’. In the report that followed, the inspectors included some lovely comments about the home and staff, and in particular, about the leadership of our Home Manager.
🌟 “A registered manager was in post who had worked at the service in a number of different roles. They demonstrated commitment to developing a positive, person-centred culture which respected people’s diverse needs.” 🌟
🌟 “Staff told us they felt respected and valued as part of the Springkell House team. One staff member told us, “I think the manager is very thoughtful and makes us all feel very welcome and part of this place. It is like a family here; I love coming to work.” 🌟
🌟 “One relative stated, “I really do [think the service is managed well] because I feel that since [registered manager] has taken over [they are] really trying to install some really good changes. [They are] trying passionately to make a good go of it.” 🌟
🌟 “The registered manager told us they had clear expectations that the service was highly personalised and provided people with choice, dignity and respect…We observed the principles and values the registered manager described were embedded into the way people were supported.” 🌟
🌟 “People and their relatives told us they knew the registered manager and felt they had the skills and presence needed to manage the service well.” 🌟
🌟 “One person told us, “I think the manager here is a very nice [person] and [they] always ask if I have everything I need.” 🌟
🌟 “We observed the registered manager had a positive presence within the service and knew people, their needs and their families well. They spent time with people during the day and from the conversations heard, it was clear this was a regular occurrence.” 🌟
🌟 “they had implemented systems to monitor the care people received more closely, increase staff skills and ensure meaningful involvement from people and their relatives in developing care plans, activities and the development of the service.” 🌟
