‘They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old: age shall not weary them or the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them.’ For the Fallen Laurence Binyon
This year we marked Remembrance Day with a reflection walk among poppies and silhouettes of soldiers made by our staff in the grounds of the estate. We gathered at 11 at the lakeside pavilion where our managing director Charlie read a poem and we held a 2 minute silence to remember all those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom.
Thank you for joining us.

Last week we held one of our regular intergenerational sessions with the children from holiday camps - it was wonderful to see the children and residents have fun together - culminating in the children using puppets to recreate the story ‘Room on the Broom’ 🧙🧹🐸😺🐶
We can’t wait until outdoor nursery opens on the estate in January so we can bring generations together and watch friendships blossom across the ages.

It’s official!
We are so excited that outdoor nursery will be opening in our very own (hidden) valley! Having a nursery on the estate will mean there will be endless opportunities for intergenerational learning. We are already planning to bring our residents and the nursery children together on a regular basis - we cannot wait to watch friendships blossom across the ages!

Being part of the community is really important to us and so when asked if we could sponsor their new U8 girls team we jumped at the chance.
We can’t wait for them to come and show our residents the football skills they’ve been practising. Go Haslemere Hawks!! ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️

...so the song goes. That’s certainly the case at The Huntington & Langham Estate. Forty years ago, when disco was at the height of its powers and social platforms like the one you’re reading now weren’t even an idea, one woman had a vision for a different type of elderly care. Marilyn H***e was that woman and, together with her husband Geoff, built Huntington House an enviable reputation for simply first-class elderly nursing care.
In 2013 Langham Court was added adjacent to Huntington House to offer pioneering dementia care in the same stunning surroundings. Implementing the hugely successful ‘Butterfly Household’ model from Dr David Sheard’s Dementia Care Matters, the home has gone from strength to strength and is now regarded as one of the leading providers in the area.
In 2018, under the stewardship of Marilyn & Geoff’s son, Charlie, the homes are re-branding with an exciting new look and clear, jargon-free information for all of our potential residents and friends to read, enjoy and understand. You will be able to see it very soon, here and over at our website.
In the meantime, we are still very much open to all and offering the same brilliant residential, nursing and dementia care we always have. For more information on our services, to arrange a viewing of the home or with any questions you might have about care for you or a loved one, you can contact the remaining family member, the lovely Sarah by phone or email.
As you can see, these homes and their residents mean everything to us and we think that you will understand after just one visit to the estate, so come along and visit us and let our family look after yours.
