The death of HM Queen may well bring about some confusion for those living with dementia, especially if (at this time) they have an image of the Queen in her younger days in their minds. They and/or their carer may well be grateful for any help you can give at this time. Thank you.

Our support group had a little party today to mark the 1st birthday of the dementia project in our villages. Not yet a year for our Dementia Friendly Community starting but a year since Sarah and I began our respective roles. Thanks to HI Friends and everyone else who has supported us over the past 12 months.

***Reminder*** - I will be presenting another Dementia Friends Information Session at the Salvation Army Hall in Impington Lane tonight at 7.30 pm. The session is FREE and open to anyone over 18 years of age. With us nudging ever closer to 1m people being diagnosed with dementia in the UK, most families will now know someone who has this diagnosis. Come and find out a bit about it and how we can all play our part to help those with this condition. This is not a medical presentation and lasts no longer than 45 minutes. Thank you.

We had a lovely afternoon at the "HI Forget-me-not Journey" group for those living in the village with dementia/memory loss and their carers. Huge thanks to Rebecca for coming in to help us. One group made these cake stands for use at future events - others were busy with bunting and table napkins. It was a relaxing and creative afternoon :)

A diagnosis of dementia isn't the best thing in life but, with help and support, it is possible to continue to do more than many might think. Jan Payne will be explaining this more fully as she presents another Dementia Friends Information Session at The Salvation Army Hall, Impington Lane CB24 9LT on Wednesday, 4 May 2022 at 7.30pm, open to anyone over 18 years of age. This is a public event but Jan will look briefly at the new Dementia Friendly Community now set up in Histon and Impington. Places are limited so please use this link to reserve yours: https://bit.ly/DFIS04_05 Thank you
