Welcome to Yoga with Lucie!
For those of you who don't already know me, I'm Lucie and I'm a part time yoga teacher. My day job is in Finance so I spend a fair amount of time sat at a desk. I started practicing yoga 8 years ago as I began to notice that my body was suffering as a result of my working lifestyle. My muscles were tight and my upper body carried a lot of tension causing aches and pains.
Above all, yoga is a breathing and spiritual practice, but Instagram has portrayed it as a practice for contortionists doing complex poses! I like to represent yoga as something you do to help your body age well, work at its optimal level and help you to carry out day to day tasks with ease. I passionately believe that everyone would benefit from yoga and movement in one way or another, whether it's to complement a training programme or to reverse the effects of a sedentary job/lifestyle.
