A good thing about having a personal trainer, rather than going it alone, is having someone there who actually notices the small things. If you’re using a machine slightly off, your posture isn’t quite right, or something doesn’t feel as it should… we’ll pick it up straight away.

Basically to make sure you’re getting the most out of what you’re doing and, more importantly, not putting yourself at risk of injury.

It’s important to strength train at any age… but especially as we get older. It’s not just about lifting weights or how it looks. It’s about staying strong for everyday life. Supporting your joints, protecting your body, and being able to move well without aches holding you back.

We see it a lot… people come in unsure, thinking they’ve “left it too late” or that they need to already be fit. You don’t. Strength can be built at any stage. It just needs the right approach, at the right pace, for your body.

TESTIMONIAL: So I’ve been at for about 3 months now, working with Andrea. I originally wanted help with some health goals… mainly being a woman in my mid-40s, perimenopausal, with a slightly dodgy hypermobile knee that had been causing me ongoing grief.

I’ll be honest, I’d been put off PT for years after a previous experience where I just didn’t feel comfortable. Andrea has been the complete opposite. He actually understands my knee, works around it, and gives me structured sessions that are building strength and confidence without feeling like I’m about to break myself… He puts up with me grumbling about having to work out most sessions 😆

I am definitely not a natural gym loving person, but somehow I actually enjoy my sessions. The biggest thing for me though… I recently went away hiking and didn’t have a single pang from my knee. Not one. Which honestly felt like a bit of a miracle. So something is clearly working… and my knee is definitely getting stronger. 🦵👍🏼

What’s The Ferraro Method all about?
Here, Andrea, Philip and Charlie share a bit more about what makes our studio a little different.

We’re a private 1:1 personal training studio based in Hitchin, where the focus is on helping people move well, build strength and work towards long-term health goals. Many of the people who come to us are managing past injuries, recurring aches or simply want guidance and structure so they can train safely and consistently.

It’s a supportive environment where coaching is tailored to the individual… and where you’ll always be working directly with one of us.

We’re also a pretty friendly bunch.

And yes… we do have a dog. 🐾

Lovely influx of new people joining The Ferraro Method lately… we’ve been working our way through initial assessments and getting people started on their journeys.

Spring is a really good time to begin. The evenings are getting lighter, and there’s that shift in energy as people start looking forward to being outdoors more, moving more and feeling a bit more like themselves again.

If you’re worrying about needing to be “fit enough” before starting, now is actually the perfect time. The goal isn’t to arrive ready… it’s to start building towards it.

And if you’re hesitating, it’s often worth taking a moment to look at what might be holding you back. If you’d like some guidance or a bit of support getting started again, feel free to reach out. We’re always happy to chat and help you find your way back into it.

It’s been a busy start to the week here at … lots of 1:1 PT sessions, our Monday team catch-up, a bit of content creation and some new assessments being booked in for people starting their health journeys. It’s been great!

Also with the bursts of sunshine lately, we’ve definitely noticed a shift. That feeling of coming out of the winter quietness and starting to feel a bit more motivated again… wanting to get outside, move more and take advantage of the longer days.

A moment to recognise the incredible women who train with us here at The Ferraro Method.

Our latest Mum Fit Club was another great session lead by .pt. A group of women carving out an hour in the middle of busy lives… juggling careers, home life, kids and everything else that comes with it.

We see first-hand how much is going on in the background for many of our clients, which is why we’ve got huge respect for those who want to make space for their own health and strength. Showing up, putting the work in, supporting each other… it’s been amazing to see and be part of the journey.

Our new Mum Fit Club runs every week. It’s £10 per person for a one-hour session, with a maximum of five people, giving you the guidance and support of personal training but with the cost shared across the group. Babies and children are welcome to attend, but please note we don’t have crèche facilities and parents remain responsible for their little ones during the session.

If you’ve been thinking about improving your own long term health goals, but are still sitting on the fence, drop us a DM and we’ll happily share more details and answer any questions you might have.
