This has been a long journey, but so pleased to have been validated as a 4 Elements Touch Therapist, and I got to celebrate last weekend with this lovely group of Therapists. There are far too many people who have supported me on this journey to thank everyone individually, so just a big thank you to everyone. ###

I am absolutely delighted to announce that long-standing therapist, Melanie Thompson of / Be Calm Well-Being , has achieved recognition as a Validated 4Elements Touch Therapist. It's been one heck of a journey - and so deserves one heck of a celebration!

When Melanie put herself forward for validation she was truly putting herself and her work under the microscope. Three Senior Therapists are involved (one as the client): fellow students also had the opportunity to get a fly on the wall view as Melanie delivered a treatment, just as she would in her own treatment room.

At the end of the treatment her work was Validated by the three Senior Therapists as truly having met and honoured her client. Of utilising the most appropriate tools, approaches and philosophies from her 4Elements training. Of putting her client above all else and delivering an absolutely outstanding treatment.

Validation can sound deceptively simple. What Melanie achieved was to combine the most appropriate aspects of her training, under the strain of being observed, to meet the needs of the client in front of her. This can feel both very straight forward and very challenging! Being observed is a necessary part of the process, and the additional strain often shows up weaker areas, or aspects that would benefit from further development.

But for Melanie, putting herself under the microscope like this showed not weaknesses but strengths. She truly let her light shine, and her potency as a therapist shone gloriously. I wish you could have been there to see it for yourself!

Getting Validated may look like a one-off snapshot but having been through the process with many others (and having gone through it myself) I can say it's the most robust and comprehensive assessment of clinical efficacy I know. And it's a MASSIVE achievement - so if you'd like to send your own personal congratulations to Melanie, please do! I'm happy to pass on all messages that come to the office.

Today is World Mental Health day. I am a great believer that mental health and physical health are very closely linked, so for overall health we must not neglect our mental health. I practice what I preach and make sure I have regular massages for both my physical and mental well-being. When is the last time you took the time out to do something for your own mental well-being?

I have been reminded in the last few days, that sometimes in order to be able to help other people, I also need to take time to take care of myself. So this afternoon, I am going to do something to make me happy - for me this is to take time to pick up my guitar, and fit in a bit of meditation. What is your go to for taking time out to make you happy?
