On November 23, a thin crescent Moon will meet Saturn in the evening sky. Just after sunset, look southwest to see the Moon glowing softly above the horizon, with Saturn shimmering close by like a pale golden star. It’s a peaceful and rare sight, worth stepping outside, even if just for a moment of quiet wonder.

On December 4, 2025, the Cold Moon reaches its peak — the final full moon of the year and the one closest to the winter solstice.
Often called the Long Night Moon, it rises during the longest and darkest nights of the year in the Northern Hemisphere.

Because of the Earth’s tilt in December, the Cold Moon climbs higher in the sky than most full moons, allowing it to shine for extended hours and cast unusually bright light across the night.
Its name comes from traditional Indigenous and colonial winter markers, signaling the arrival of deep cold and stillness.

- The Moon rises opposite the Sun, creating long-lasting moonlight
- Best viewing time: shortly after moonrise, as the sky darkens
