Treating pets with dignity and respect at all stages of their life, especially the difficult times by providing caring individual cremations.

Dignity Pet Crematorium was started in 1992 by Barry & Carole Spurgeon. Our aim is to make the passing of a much loved pet easier to cope with through our caring and respectful individual pet cremation service. We are very different to the weekly pet cremation services often offered through veterinary surgeries and try to give each pet the send off that they deserve.

The festive season can feel different when a much-loved pet is no longer by our side. 💙
If you’re remembering a special pet this Christmas, we hope you find gentle comfort in the small moments — a favourite decoration, a photo, or a story shared with someone who understands. Their warmth is still with you, especially now.
If you’d like your pet’s memory to shine on our Monkey Puzzle Tree — with a remembrance bauble that helps raise money for charity — you can find more details through the link.
A calm bright Sunday at Dignity PetCrem this morning.
Our Monkey Puzzle tree is waiting patiently for its Christmas makeover - the charity baubles will be going up soon - please order yours this weekend ❤️🐾
✨ A little festive cheer is arriving at Dignity… ✨
Our Christmas lights are starting to go up around the grounds as we prepare for our Tree Lighting Ceremony in just a couple of weeks.
We know this season can feel tender, so we wanted to bring a touch of warmth and gentleness to the place where so many precious goodbyes are said.
If you’re visiting us—whether collecting your pet or bringing them into our care—you’re welcome to take a quiet moment to pause, wander through the lights, and remember your beloved pet. Their memory is always at the heart of everything we do.

On Tuesday 9th December at 5pm, we’ll be going live on Facebook for our annual Tree Lighting Ceremony. ✨
This gentle moment is our way of honouring every beloved pet whose memory lives on in the beautiful baubles hanging on our tree. As the lights begin to glow, we hope it brings comfort, connection, and a little warmth to anyone missing a much-loved companion.
Today we’re celebrating a very special birthday… our sweet Ollie’s “Gotcha Day.”
He came to us all the way from Crete, and from the moment he arrived he’s been part of the Dignity family.
If he’s not curled up fast asleep, you’ll usually find him wandering into the office, gently hopping up on someone’s desk in the hope of a cuddle (and of course, he always gets one).
Please join us in wishing our lovely Ollie a very happy birthday in the comments below. We know he’d love all the fuss. 🎉🐾

Thanks to your kindness, we’ve already raised £456 for charity through this year’s Christmas decorations — our Personalised Baubles for the Monkey Puzzle Tree and our Remembrance Lanterns.
Every donation helps us support animals in needs to make sure pets are taken care of at every stage, and we’re so grateful for each and every contribution.
Our goal is £1,200, and with your support, we know we can reach it.

Sometimes the hardest moments are filled with the most worries.
We created The Meadow Room to take some of that fear away.
In this gentle space, families can slow down, bring what comforts their pet, and say goodbye in a way that feels personal. Never rushed, never clinical, always held with care.
If you’re preparing for a final goodbye, or simply want to understand your options, our pet bereavement resources are here to support you. 💙

Losing her soul dog, Rico, changed everything for Nikki. It ultimately led her to become a dedicated pet bereavement counsellor, helping others navigate the grief she once faced alone.
We’re honoured to share Nikki’s story in today’s post. Her compassion, her courage, and her commitment to supporting pet carers remind us why gentle, informed after-care matters so deeply.

Dignity Pet Crematorium was started in 1992 by my parents, Barry & Carole Spurgeon. Our aim is to make the passing of a much loved pet easier to cope with through our caring and respectful individual pet cremation service. We are very different to the weekly pet cremation services often offered through veterinary surgeries and promise to give each pet the loving send off that they deserve.
I’ve explained a bit more about us below. For more information just visit our main website www.dignitypetcrem.co.uk or call us on 01252 844572 to talk through your wishes. We also have a Live Chat feature on our website or you can send us a message via Facebook if you are finding it too difficult to speak to someone over the phone.

Our service is simple. We will look after your pet, however large or small, on their own and you will receive only their ashes back after a genuine individual cremation or you can choose to have them scattered in our beautiful gardens alongside both other pets and their human guardians.
You can choose to personalise their send off however you want. More and more people are choosing to bring their pet to us for a Same Day or Attended cremation service, where you can say a last goodbye before waiting in our gardens or the local area before returning home with their ashes later the same day. Alternatively we can collect your pet from your home or vet in one of our pet hearses. Either way they will be looked after by us with the respect they deserve.
Please take time to read our reviews both on Facebook and on the review site Freeindex. We hope that these reviews by “real” people will give you complete peace of mind about how we will care for your pet. If you can it is far better to plan ahead as you can be swept along by events and may be rushed into making a hasty decision. Doing your research before the final day will give you a better understanding of the less scrupulous practices and lead you to make an informed decision that is the right one for you.
Losing a pet is devastating (to put it mildly) and we are also there to help you cope with your loss. We can be there for you as a shoulder to lean on and have access to fully trained pet bereavement counsellors to help you in your grief.
