Treating pets with dignity and respect at all stages of their life, especially the difficult times by providing caring individual cremations.

Dignity Pet Crematorium was started in 1992 by Barry & Carole Spurgeon. Our aim is to make the passing of a much loved pet easier to cope with through our caring and respectful individual pet cremation service. We are very different to the weekly pet cremation services often offered through veterinary surgeries and try to give each pet the send off that they deserve.

The kindness of families never fails to touch our hearts.
The Halfpenny family sent these beautiful flowers, wine and chocolates as a thank you after we cared for their beloved pets — a gesture of appreciation for one of our drivers who supported them during such a difficult time.
Moments like this mean more to our team than we can ever fully express. To be trusted with a pet’s final journey is something we never take lightly, and to know that a family felt comforted and cared for brings quiet reassurance to everything we do.
To the Halfpenny family, thank you. Your thoughtfulness has meant so much to us all. 💙

Some families know exactly where they want to rest.
For Anne Marie, lovingly known as “Dotty,” that place was here. In our Woodlands, alongside her beloved pets.
Dotty’s animals were never “just pets.” They were her companions, her comfort, her family. So when the time came to think about her own final wishes, she made one thing beautifully clear, she wanted to be with them again.
In our Gardens and Woodlands, families can choose to have their ashes scattered or interred together with their pets. It’s a quiet, natural setting. A place of birds, trees, and gentle paths. A place where love continues.
For some, it brings deep comfort to know they will one day rest side by side with the animals who shaped their lives.
Pre-planning isn’t about dwelling on loss. It’s about peace of mind. It’s about making your wishes known and easing the burden on those you love. Our pre-payment plan allows families to make those arrangements in advance, calmly and thoughtfully.
If being together matters to you, we are here to talk it through whenever you feel ready.
Some reviews stay with you. This is one of them. 💙
Natalie trusted us with her beautiful boy, Archie — her “soul-dog, best friend” — and chose to have an Attended Service so she could be part of every step of his final goodbye.
She shared how our team gave her grace on that first heartbreaking phone call. How Archie was prepared so peacefully. How she was invited to tell us about him before his final farewell. How the service felt like a “proper funeral.” How the grounds, the candles, the white lights in December made her feel he was still part of something special.
Natalie, thank you for your honesty, your trust, and for allowing us to care for Archie. It was a privilege to walk beside you. 💙
If you have a moment, please send Archie’s family some love in the comments. Grief can feel isolating, but no one should walk it alone.

Ollie takes his responsibilities very seriously… including making sure the tissues are always close by. 💙
Because when families walk through our doors, we promise more than a service. We promise compassion. We promise respect. We promise to care for your pet as if they were our own.
It’s a quiet promise but one we keep, every single day.

Rest in peace Lucy Barfoot xx
There’s something very special about seeing our community come together. 💙
I wanted to personally say thank you for the incredible generosity you’ve shown so far. The dog toys we’ve received for Home & Abroad Animal Welfare are already making a difference and we’re so grateful to every single person who has donated.
We now have just one week left of the appeal. If you have any dog toys at home that are new or still in good condition, we would love to pass them on to dogs in need.
We’re also looking for cat carriers. If you have one you no longer need, it could make a real difference.
If we can, we will. And together, we truly can.

Today is National Love Your Pet Day 💙
For some, that love is still curled up beside you.
For others, that love lives in memories.
If you feel able, tell us your pet’s name in the comments.
We’d be honoured to see them remembered today.
Because love doesn’t end with goodbye, it simply changes shape.

As February draws to a close, we wanted to gently remind families that our Remembrance baubles from the Monkey Puzzle Tree are ready to be collected from Dignity. 💙
If you would like to take yours home, please visit us before 28th February.
Any baubles that remain with us after this date will be responsibly recycled through Orthometals. The funds raised from recycling will be donated to charity, continuing the legacy of love and kindness these tributes represent.
Whether your bauble hangs in your home or gives back through charity, it will always stand for the bond you shared.
If you have any questions about collection, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our team — we’re here for you.

Grief can feel incredibly lonely, even when you’re surrounded by people who care.
As part of our Dignity community, your wellbeing matters to us just as much as your pet’s farewell. 💙 If speaking to family or friends feels difficult, there are trusted organisations who offer compassionate, confidential pet bereavement support.
We’ve shared a few within this post, and you can find even more helpful resources on our website here:

If we can support you, whether that’s through listening, guiding, or simply pointing you in the right direction, we will.

Behind the scenes at Dignity, in our Farewell Building, sits something very special. 💙
Our Book of Remembrance.
Since we opened in 1992, families have chosen to honour their pets within these pages. Some tributes date back to the 90s... and new ones are still being added this year.
Every entry tells a story. A name. A life. A love that will always matter.
When you choose to include your pet in our Book of Remembrance, you're placing their name into a legacy of remembrance that has grown for over three decades. A quiet space where their memory sits alongside so many others who were deeply loved.
Each tribute is also shared on our social media, so we can honour every pet in our wider community - because every life deserves to be remembered.
Please join us in sending your thoughts and love to his family in the comments below.

Dignity Pet Crematorium was started in 1992 by my parents, Barry & Carole Spurgeon. Our aim is to make the passing of a much loved pet easier to cope with through our caring and respectful individual pet cremation service. We are very different to the weekly pet cremation services often offered through veterinary surgeries and promise to give each pet the loving send off that they deserve.
I’ve explained a bit more about us below. For more information just visit our main website www.dignitypetcrem.co.uk or call us on 01252 844572 to talk through your wishes. We also have a Live Chat feature on our website or you can send us a message via Facebook if you are finding it too difficult to speak to someone over the phone.

Our service is simple. We will look after your pet, however large or small, on their own and you will receive only their ashes back after a genuine individual cremation or you can choose to have them scattered in our beautiful gardens alongside both other pets and their human guardians.
You can choose to personalise their send off however you want. More and more people are choosing to bring their pet to us for a Same Day or Attended cremation service, where you can say a last goodbye before waiting in our gardens or the local area before returning home with their ashes later the same day. Alternatively we can collect your pet from your home or vet in one of our pet hearses. Either way they will be looked after by us with the respect they deserve.
Please take time to read our reviews both on Facebook and on the review site Freeindex. We hope that these reviews by “real” people will give you complete peace of mind about how we will care for your pet. If you can it is far better to plan ahead as you can be swept along by events and may be rushed into making a hasty decision. Doing your research before the final day will give you a better understanding of the less scrupulous practices and lead you to make an informed decision that is the right one for you.
Losing a pet is devastating (to put it mildly) and we are also there to help you cope with your loss. We can be there for you as a shoulder to lean on and have access to fully trained pet bereavement counsellors to help you in your grief.
