Horley Children's Wellbeing Service: Sign up for Sleep Matters

Please see below for details on the sessions, aimed to support children and young people with their sleep hygiene and give practical ideas and tips to encourage a good night's rest.

Information:
👤: All children aged 8 - 18
📍: This online session is held via Microsoft Teams - you will need a device to access it e.g. mobile phone, tablet or computer
⏰ : The session is a single session and is 45 minutes long
🔁: Sessions usually occur monthly, apart from in school holidays when dates may vary.

Easter Opening Hours & Information
Please be aware that the Practice will be closed on both Friday 3rd April and Monday 6th April for the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.

We will reopen at the usual time of 8:30am on Tuesday 7th April.

Meningitis Cases in Kent – Important Patient Information
We understand that hearing about meningitis can be worrying. Cases linked to Kent are currently localised and being managed by health teams.

✔️ Key things to know:
There are no changes to the vaccine programme
Most young people already have protection from routine vaccines
Close contacts will be contacted directly – no need to request antibiotics

⚠️ Know the symptoms – act fast:
Rash that doesn’t fade
High temperature
Severe headache, stiff neck, vomiting
Cold hands/feet or confusion

📞 Helpline (UKHSA):
For people who believe they have been in contact with a confirmed case (and have no symptoms)
Call 0344 225 3861 (Mon–Fri, 9am–5pm)

March is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.

Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers in men, but finding it early can make a real difference. If you’re over 50 or over 45 and at higher risk, please contact your GP to book your prostate cancer screening.

You may also be at higher risk if you are Black or have a family history of prostate cancer.

Let’s keep the conversation going, reduce stigma, and seek advice.

It is bittersweet to say goodbye to Debbie, who has been with Smallfield surgery for the past 15 years. She represents everything we stand for as a practice — kindness, commitment, and an extraordinary willingness to put patients first. Whatever the situation, she has met it with patience, grace and quiet strength.

Her dedication, warmth and steady presence will be greatly missed by both colleagues and patients alike.

As Debbie begins her retirement, she shares this message: “I would like to say I have enjoyed working at Smallfield Surgery for nearly 15years.
Hopefully I have been a help to our patients in the village. I will miss everyone very much but I won’t be a stranger.”

We are incredibly grateful for everything Debbie has given to the practice over the years and wish her every happiness in her well-deserved retirement.

Just found out you’re pregnant? Congratulations!
If you’re planning your maternity care in Surrey, you’ll need to complete the online self-referral form for Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.

This is the only way to register for maternity services, so it’s best to fill it in as soon as you can.
