🎅✨ You’ve heard of Elf on the Shelf…
but have you heard of Claus with a Gauze?

Santa’s brushing up on his first aid skills this Christmas — because even the North Pole needs someone who knows how to treat a cut or scrape! 😉

Gauze at the ready, Claus is here to remind you:
🩹 Keep your first aid kit stocked
🩹 Clean and cover minor wounds
🩹 And always know when to seek help

A little knowledge can make a big difference — even in Santa’s workshop!

True or False?

If someone is having an asthma attack, you should help them sit upright rather than lie down.

✔️ True!

Sitting upright helps open the airways and makes breathing easier. Lying down can actually make symptoms worse.

During an asthma attack:
➡️ Help them sit upright
➡️ Encourage slow, steady breaths
➡️ Support them to use their inhaler
➡️ Call 999 if there’s no improvement

A simple position change can make a lifesaving difference. 💙

Did You Know?

When checking if someone is breathing, you should do it for no more than 10 seconds.

Why?

Because every second counts in an emergency and if they’re not breathing normally, starting CPR quickly can save their life.

Look. Listen. Feel.
➡️ 10 seconds max.
➡️ Then take action.

Knowledge saves lives. ❤️‍🩹

⚡ True or False?

A seizure always means you should start CPR.

❌ False!

Most seizures don’t require CPR.

Your job is to protect the person, keep them safe, and never put anything in their mouth.

✔️ Move objects away
✔️ Time the seizure
✔️ Cushion their head
✔️ After it stops, place them in the recovery position

You would only start CPR if they are not breathing normally once the seizure ends.

Knowledge saves lives. 🧠💙

🍬 Did you know?
Hard sweets, grapes, and small snacks are among the top choking hazards for young children. 🚨

Always cut food into small pieces, keep a close eye during snack time, and encourage children to sit still while eating. 👀

If a child starts choking and can’t breathe or cough, give 5 firm back blows between the shoulder blades and call 999 if the blockage doesn’t clear. 🚑

A few quick actions can make all the difference. 💙

Myth or Truth?

You should remove a motorcyclist’s helmet after a crash.

❌ Myth!

Unless the person isn’t breathing and you need to perform CPR, never remove their helmet.

Removing it could cause serious neck or spinal injuries.

Instead, call 999, keep them still and calm, and support their head and neck until help arrives.

Sometimes, doing less is doing more. 💙
