Congratulations to Rachel Berry and her new husband, Mike.

Rachel couldn’t bear the idea of getting married without the presence of her mother, Ruth, who lives with dementia at the Foxhunters Care Community in Abergavenny. So, in collaboration with the care home, Rachel arranged to have a blessing at the care home with her mother, the residents and the staff in attendance. The day looked magical, and everyone had a wonderful time. Congratulations to everyone involved.

Happy Halloween! While many of us will enjoy Halloween fun this evening, remember that some people within our communities might not want to be disturbed, especially older people.

One top tip is to look for a pumpkin outside the house – it’s a good sign that the householders are a happy to receive trick or treaters. Elderly people may be nervous of answering the door in the evening once it’s become dark, so if they don’t answer, don’t persist, it’s probably best to move on.

Take care everyone and have a fun, considerate Halloween.
