🟢 Equine Muscle Focus 🟢
During one of my latest massage session, I noticed this horse showing some tension and specific reactions in areas I’ve highlighted on this diagram 📍
🔍 Muscles like the Omotransversarius, Brachiocephalicus, Pectoralis Descendens, Pectoralis Transversus, and Biceps Brachii were showing tightness and sensitivity. These muscles are heavily involved in neck and forelimb movement, shoulder extension, and stability during locomotion.
📌 When a horse shows discomfort in these areas, it’s often linked to:
• Compensating for uneven workload or saddle fit
• Poor posture during work or turnout
• Repetitive strain from training or conformation imbalances
For this particular horse we believe it was from galloping on the hard ground. .. .
💆♀️ Massage here helps release muscle tension, fascia, improve circulation, and restore normal movement patterns—which this guy really appreciated by the end of the session (lots of yawns and licks! 😄)
I love using visuals like this to help explain why horses respond the way they do during bodywork—it’s not random, it’s communication. 🐴❤️
