Our new home, a pioneering rewilding project, reflects our deepest values—and the bees are settling in beautifully.

Since February, Bee Cosmetics has been proudly based at the Knepp Rewilding Project—a pioneering landscape restoration in the heart of the Sussex countryside.

Every product is made by hand in our Bee Barn, surrounded by wildflower meadows, woodland, and wildlife returning to nature.

We’ve also recently relocated three of our hives to Knepp, where the bees are already settling in well.

Knepp's mission mirrors ours: to work with nature, not against it. Moving here wasn’t just a step forward for our business—it was a way to put our values into action, and to continue creating skincare that’s kind to your skin and the planet.

Over the past year, we’ve been quietly working on something new—something small, mighty, and better for the planet.

On Thursday 19th June, we’ll be introducing a new way to care for your hair: concentrated and natural formulas that don’t rely on bulky plastic bottles.

Why concentrated? Most shampoos and conditioners are made up mostly of water. Ours aren’t. Instead, we’ve created two rich, powerful creams that deliver just as many washes—if not more—in a compact, 100ml jar.

They’re 98–99% natural, free from sulphates and SLS, and packaged in our usual plastic-free, refillable glass jars—designed to last, and made to be returned.

We harness the natural skin care properties of beeswax, honey and propolis, combined with carefully selected ingredients to produce simple yet effective skincare.

For centuries bee products have been used in skincare, medicine and healthcare. We sustainably collect beeswax, honey and propolis from our beehives across Sussex to use within our range. This gives our products excellent natural skin care properties reducing the need for synthetic chemicals.

The way our products are made is just as important as the ingredients we use.

We source the highest quality plant oils, butters and essential oils, combining them with our simple recipes and long-established techniques to reduce the need for synthetic chemicals found in most mass-produced skincare.

We adopt a handmade small batch process, making at most 80 products per batch. This allows for hand-craft, attention to detail and reduced waste. All products are packaged inhouse using recyclable or reusable containers, avoiding wasteful packaging.

Elizabeth is the creator of recipes and maker of the products (and assistant beekeeper)

Derek looks after 25 beehives across Sussex, making sure the bees are healthy and happy

Joseph is our marketing and social media manager
