We had the pleasure of working in partnership with Horsham District Council to create a plaque commemorating the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The plaque was unveiled on 2nd June 2022 and is situated in the Carfax, Horsham in front of the bandstand.

Here, we're sharing a peek behind the scenes of the process of creating this bespoke piece. It was designed and created by our master craftsman, Paul Binstead, and installed by our memorial mason Richard.

We've had the greatest pleasure to work in partnership with Horsham District Council to create this Queens Platinum Jubilee commemorative plaque. Here is our very talented and highly skilled master craftsman Paul. The stone will be unveiled on Thursday 2nd June in front of the bandstand in Carfax.

As commemorative plaque will be laid in Horsham’s Carfax on Thursday: here's a sneak peek at the design 😃

The special commission is made from York stone and crafted by local master craftsman Paul Binstead. Paul said: “It is a real honour to work on this Platinum Jubilee commission which will mark such a unique part of history for our District.”

Horsham District Council Cabinet Member for Horsham Town Cllr Christian Mitchell said: “Paul’s beautiful craftsmanship with his passion and care in this wonderful piece of work are a fitting tribute to Her Majesty the Queen on behalf of our District. It was real pleasure to meet Paul and thank him for his great work that will form part of the fabric of the Carfax and mark in perpetuity a truly historic Jubilee.”

We've worked on this in partnership with Horsham based memorial masons J. Gumbrill Monumental Masons - Sussex and Surrey , which has been designing and making commemorative stones since 1905.
