What a brilliant weekend full of connection, knowledge and some seriously lush savasana massage. Total bliss!

Cannot wait to apply all of the amazing things I have learned to all of my lovely students in class.

Right, I'm off for a bath, then bed.

Wishing you all a beautifully restful end to your Sunday. ✨️

In yoga, we often refer to our 'true self'... but what does that actually mean?

In yogic philosophy, Svarūpa is the sanskrit word meaning true self, essential nature, or true form. It is your true unchanging essence beyond the ever changing body, the fluctuations of the mind, and beyond the ego.

When we begin to peel back the layers of our conditioning and rest in stillness and silence, we come into contact with this untouched part of our being.

When we intentionally pause and just breathe, we remember who we truly are beneath all the noise of both our external and internal worlds.

Alan Watts once said, " The meaning of life is just to be alive. It is so obvious and so simple. And yet everybody rushes around in a great panic as if it is necessary to achieve something beyond ourselves. "

And it is so true! We have forgotten who we really are.

So instead of feeling the need to constantly prove ourselves, what if we saw our simple, wonderful existence on this earth, and our connection with the world around us as enough? What if we didn't need to do more, or achieve more or be more, but instead remembered that we already have everything we need within us to live a truly worthy life?

Your only job is to simply be here, just as you are. In your living, breathing body, in the sanctuary of the breath, you are already enough. 🙏🏻✨️

A rainy day spent prepping for my first kids yoga class tomorrow. 🧘🏼‍♀️👧🏼🧒🏾

Feeling really grateful for the opportunity to share the physical and mental benefits of yoga with children in school. ✨️

Let's give kids the tools now to empower them to navigate the stresses of life with confidence, and so they grow up knowing that they are strong, capable, brave and, most importantly, that they are loved. 🩷

Its an Apple and Blackberry Crumble Porridge kinda morning. 🩷

Comfort food for the soul. ✨️

My nervous system has been feeling a little strung out lately as a result of poor sleep, the loss of a loved one and some increased anxiety around my health so I am choosing to take extra good care of myself by resting more, moving gently with daily walks and yoga nidra practices, and giving myself space and grace to feel all the feelings.

It's definitely not a linear process; some days I can breathe into it and face things with courage and compassion, and other days I forget that inner strength exists and spend my time resisting my experience, stuck in a constant battle with my thoughts, wishing it was all different. After all, that's what it means to be human some days, right?!

So if you're struggling with anything right now, know that you are not alone. You are not powerless or broken or weak. You are a human being in need of a little extra love and support. And it's absolutely OK to make yourself a priority at this time.

So make yourself your favourite comfort food, wear your PJs for the day and love yourself a little bit harder.

Better days are coming. 🙏🏻

Peace and love, Steph ### ❤️

Beautiful morning for a gentle practice.

Meditation under blue skies, slow and conscious movement as the cool breeze sweeps across my skin, and a big mug of tea to savour as I listen to the sound of the birds.

Absolute medicine for the soul.

If you need a sign to practice today, this is it.

Wishing you all a beautifully peaceful Sunday doing what you love.

Peace and love ✌️🩷

A beautiful outdoor space for tonight's yoga practice. 🙏🏻

A space to soften. To breathe. To ground into the present moment with gentle, mindful awareness.

This awareness is the practice of yoga.

The ability to sit with all of our human experience; the good, the bad and the ugly; and to choose to stay. Even if that means just dipping your toe in to begin with, until it gets easier to be with things as they are.

Whatever comes, we let it come. Whatever stays, we let it stay. Whatever goes, we let it go. One intentional breath at a time.

As many times as it takes, we come back to ourselves. Our TRUE selves. We are there, still, beneath it all.

We are not lost. We never were. We never will be. ✨️

Join me on the mat each Friday to pause, to breathe, to be.
