It feels like it’s been raining forever 🌧️

Yesterday’s sunshine gave me so much hope for spring - my favourite season 🌷

Today is grey again.

But rest is part of the rhythm too.
Not every day has to be bright to be meaningful.

Rainy Sundays count 🤍

Progress doesn’t have to look finished.

Change rarely happens in big leaps.
It happens in small, repeatable steps.

Habits don’t need to be perfect to be working.
They don’t need to look tidy or complete.

What matters most is consistency - even when things feel messy, unfinished, or imperfect.

One step is enough for today 🤍

Habit stacking is about working with habits you already have.

The key is to start with something that’s already a constant in your life - something you do on autopilot - and gently add a new habit alongside it.

Coffee is a good example for many people.

You wake up.
You make a cup.
It happens without much thought.

Rather than trying to build something new from scratch, habit stacking works by placing a small change next to something that’s already established.

You’re stacking onto habits your brain already knows how to do.

That’s often what makes change feel more manageable 🤍

Change often works best when it happens within habits you already have.

Take something familiar, like coffee.

You wake up.
You make a cup.
It helps you feel more awake.

That simple pattern - cue, response, outcome - is why habits stick and often run on autopilot.

It’s also where small, manageable change often begins:
by making gentle adjustments alongside habits that are already well established.

I’ll share more about this next 🤍

Most habits are old and well established.

A lot of the habits people feel frustrated with didn’t start recently. They’ve formed over time as consistent and often helpful ways to comfort, soothe, distract, or get us through the day.

When we expect an old habit to change quickly, it can bring up a lot of self-doubt - and it can feel really hard.

In reality, we’re asking the brain to let go of something it learned for a reason. Something it’s been doing on autopilot to help us function.

That’s why change often feels difficult - and why it’s still possible.

The key is to make it slow, small, kind, and as easy as possible 🤍

One very simple thing that helps people understand habits a bit differently:

Your brain is built to automate.

It looks for patterns, shortcuts, and routines because doing everything consciously would be exhausting. So when something works - even a little - the brain tries to repeat it.

That’s how habits form.

Most habits didn’t appear overnight. Many have been shaped over years, sometimes decades, in response to stress, comfort, survival, or getting through the day.

Which means struggling to change a habit isn’t about laziness or lack of motivation.

It’s often about trying to undo something your brain learned for a reason.

We’ll talk more about what helps with that - gently - over the next few weeks 🤍

At the Reigate Wellbeing Centre, I work with people who are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or frustrated with themselves about change.

January is often when people think they should feel more motivated than they do.

Over the next few weeks, I’m going to be sharing some gentle reflections here about habits, motivation, and why change is hard - especially when life is already demanding a lot from you.

Much of my work is about helping people understand that struggling with change doesn’t mean you’re failing. It usually means something important is getting in the way.

This space (both here and in the therapy room) is about slowing things down, making sense of what’s happening, and starting where you actually are.

More to come 🤍

The sign of complete relaxation is definitely falling asleep on the way home 🌿

A Rewilder testimonial from our "Rewilding Mama Retreat."

The retreat gave us Mama’s space to reconnect with nature and themselves. Reclaiming their "wild" and authentic self. Yes, the day was a ticket to peace and quiet, but it was also a return to the rhythms of nature and the wisdom within. Reconnecting with inner strength and reclaiming our voice.

Our retreats are a powerful invitation to come home to yourself. Amongst the beautiful natural backdrop with a circle of like-minded women Shedding layers of old patterns and reigniting your inner fire with myself (Liz) as a Health Psychologist and the wonderful Katie, a Nutritionist đź’š

In a world that rewards constant productivity, perfection, and performance, many women are silently burning out. You might be one of them. We both were. In today’s fast-paced world, many women struggle with chronic stress, burnout, and a profound sense of disconnection. Disconnection to your body, emotions, and even your joy. If you often feel exhausted yet wired, overwhelmed but unfulfilled, or like you’re living life solely in your head, you’re not alone.

This is where rewilding for women comes in. It is a powerful, holistic approach to supporting yourself and reconnecting with your natural self.

If you’re ready to slow down, listen deeply to your body, and restore your natural vitality, join us for the next Rewilding Retreat, a nurturing one-day pause to let go of the busyness and drop into stillness - this is a space to come home to yourself, explore what you need most, and realign with your natural rhythm.

🖊️ September has always felt like a fresh start.

Maybe it’s the echo of school days - crisp mornings, new routines, the smell of fresh notebooks and sharpened pencils.

Maybe it’s the way the season begins to shift - the light softens, the air cools, and suddenly everything seems to feel like a reset.

It’s not loud or grand like January’s New Year’s resolutions.

It’s gentler.

But it still holds space for reflection.

After the swirl of summer, I’m craving that pause.

A moment to breathe.

To notice what I want more of, and what I might need to let go of.
