BIRTHDAY TIME... A 20th and a 4th ✨️

Today AESTHETICA is 20 and THE ESSENTIAL SHOP BY AESTHETICA is 4.
So we have officially made it through teenage years!

The core client base of Aesthetica is now 25.

We are not too sure how this has actually happened, as it only seems like yesterday when planning for the salon layout and building works were in full swing & when we randomly phoned our clients, saying "hey, this might be a strange call, but do you remember us? We are opening a treatment centre very shortly, please come."

Your response --- already back then... has been overwhelmingly positive and supportive, without a blink.

Which leads to the main message of this post:

Without you all, our beautiful dear very loved wonderful clients, we couldn't have done it.

We will never know how we actually deserve you.

Your ease, your openness, your positivity, your kindness, your love, your support....

Has always been consistent and so so strong.

In times of real difficulty --- not just general economic fluctuations over the years, but also a pandemic with 3 lockdowns with a total of 11 months salon closure --- you just responded in the most loveliest kindest most supportive ways, literally saying "hey don't worry about it, we will come and show up, even if you operate from a rotten shed or in a field full of shrubs and bumps, it doesn't matter".

It's hard to explain how powerful and deeply felt this really is.

Your support and backing during these dark times will NEVER be forgotten and the gratitude is spoken out loud and is sent across to you all, every single day.

Feeling super emotional, just writing this!

Even the latest issue of losing our business phone number after 20 years.... you all just say "hey, don't worry about it, we can change and switch numbers any time, it doesn't matter, it's just a number just send us a smoke signal".

You all have no idea how much this all means.

Please know that you are never taken for granted for a second, and we are very aware that everything in life can be lost in a flash.

Practising the practice of impermanence, consciously and daily. 🙏✨️

Looking ahead, we are now focusing on GROWING UP. ( 👁👁 )

Which also involves some new treatment additions coming your way.

Treatments to nourish the soul, with all things "wellbeing improvements" starting from here.

Each day with you all is a blessing and we cherish the many chapters we share here over the years.
Lots of laughter, craziest senses of humour, realism, sadness and acceptance.
All of it.

There is no subject that doesn't get discussed here.

A heartfelt THANK YOU for your wonderfulness, humanness and simply put: absolute coolness.

You are all very loved and appreciated.

With Aesthetica being a week away from being 20, we are having a little reflection on the subject of "ageing".

Ageing is obviously a huge subject in this line of work and clients ask every day what suggestions or tricks we can share, to prolong youth and longevity.

As you all know, we simply DENY AND outrightly REJECT this subject here. 😉

Ageing is all in the mind and a pure self-fulfilling prophecy.
Yes - a good skincare and healthy diet and exercise are essential to keep the "outer layers" in happy condition, but essentially ageing starts in the mind. The mindset is the foundation.

On our personal journey here, we can confirm that "wisdom and maturity" have rapidly declined with the years & mistakes and bad life decisions are forever increasing at fast pace.
Showing that ageing isn't equivalent to gaining wisdom or insight. 😁

In our daily therapy work, we learn every day that "age" is absolutely relative and individual.

We sometimes see young bodies hardly being able to move, and on the flipside older bodies fit as fiddles.
Not always being restricted or affected by physical health, but sometimes being driven purely by the mind in the background.

The individual "zest" of humans is so fascinating and interesting, that our passion has never ceased one bit for this work.
In fact .... we want more and more of it.

We never see "abilities" or "disabilities"....we only ever see the human force, when we see our fabulous clients coming through our door.
With different angles of strengths that we see every day - continually making us question our pre-learnt thinking.

One striking fact, working as therapists, therefore is: we cannot ever assume.

Our "oldest" client to this date is currently 99.
This incredible gentleman started coming to us at age 95.
Always wearing a most fabulously tailored suit, discussing things from personally blended perfumes to the latest national theatre shows, looking ever so handsome and being full of life zest.
The first conversation we ever had, when booking the first appointment, went along the lines of: "I might be 95 but I know exactly what Reflexology is, I had it for decades, you don't need to tell me. Of course, I will try not to die on your treatment couch". 😳
Putting us straight in our place! And we hit it off straight away. 🙏😁

Our "youngest" client is currently 9. (obviously clients under 18 need to have a special consent signed by their parent or guardian & are usually having their guardian in the treatment room, for general safeguarding).
This young lady came to us first age 7.
Her first words were: "You don't need to treat me like a child - I might look like one, but I know exactly what life is all about and would love to discuss the meaning of life."
Yes. 😳
Again, absolutely putting us in our place.
The conversations since have been eye-opening and she is probably our personal guru now!

Deep stuff for a Sunday morning...

Each day is filled with fascinating moments and with thought provoking conversations, never allowing us to "assume".

It's truly wonderful and forever humbling.

The gratitude to you all is unmeasurable.

To purchase GIFT VOUCHERS, please remember we are not a "walk in" salon and have never been, in nearly 20 years here.

We will take your order and voucher details to get your personalised gift ready and arrange a suitable pick-up slot for you.
If time is of essence, we can always take your payment details over the phone, process it straight away and email it across to you within a couple of minutes.
All gift vouchers are held on the system here and nothing ever gets lost.
If a pet or washing machine "eats" a gift voucher, it's not a problem - everything is "triple logged" under the recipient’s full name, date and voucher reference number.
We often get calls from people who have lost their vouchers (or the dog has eaten it 😃) and it's really not a problem.
It's all held on the system here and we rarely expire anybody's gift.
If your voucher nears its expiry date (6 months from date of issue, shown on your gift) - just phone us and we will happily extend it.
We have done this since "Day 1" of opening Aesthetica and this won't change.
We are always here to help you.
