Too many are unaware of this. Ladies have a read and let that sink in next time your lifts aren’t as big or you’ve no energy in class.

Did you know that if you have periods, your hormone cycle can have an impact on your exercise goals? 💪

As hormone levels ebb and flow, your body's capabilities can do the same. At somes points in your cycle, you may find that you have extra energy and strength while, at others, even the thought of exercise feels tiring.

🩸 Menstruation: Your energy and motivation is at its lowest, but some gentle exercise might help to relieve period symptoms

🏃‍♀️ Follicular phase: Your energy and strength will increase with your oestrogen levels, so dial up the intensity of your workouts to capitalise on it

🏋️‍♀️ Ovulatory phase: This is when many of us hit peak energy, but it's different for everyone, so listen to your body

🏊 Luteal phase: High progesterone means that you may find your energy levels dropping, meaning workouts feel more difficult

You can tailor these principles to your equestrian activities – opt for gentle hacks during menstration, then schedule competitions or more intense training when your energy levels might be higher 📈

Everyone is different, so pay attention to what your body is telling you and adjust your activity levels accordingly 🫶
