On International Trans Day of Visibility, it’s a good time to share a reminder of why pronouns are so important. They’re an important part of self-identity. Respecting people’s chosen names and pronouns is a simple yet powerful act of allyship. Include pronouns in your email signatures and social media profiles to normalise their usage. If you’re unsure, simply ask politely what someone’s preferred pronouns are.
