When you find out you are pregnant, you can refer yourself for NHS pregnancy care so you start care with a midwife right away.
Once you sign up online, the maternity team will contact you to book your first appointment with a midwife.
You should do this by the 10th week of pregnancy, if possible, but it’s never too late to start. If you're over 10 weeks, refer yourself as soon as you can.

This Thursday is Carers Rights Day! 📣 To celebrate the day and help make sure carers know their rights and all the support available in Kirklees, we're hosting a Carers Rights Day Event at Brian Jackson House in Huddersfield.

Come by from 1.30-5.30pm for information about support available locally, advice from our Carers Count team, some fun and relaxing activities, and of course, plenty of refreshments!

We've also got all our usual groups, including our Huddersfield Art Group, Tai Chi, and our Female Carers Group. All sessions are friendly, welcoming, and a chance to take time for you.

The Globe Mills will be having it's windows cleaned this week on Wednesday 19th and Thursday 20th November, and the cleaning teams vehicle is likely to take up a good chunk of the car park.
If you've got an appointment on either of those days, please allow a little extra time for your journey just in case parking is limited.
You may need to find alternative parking nearby.

‼ Flu Jab SOS ‼ 🤧

You may have seen on the news that NHS England have issued a flu jab SOS as flu rates have started climbing early this year.

Duncan Burton, Chief Nursing Officer for England, said: “With just weeks left to ensure best protection against the worst of the flu season, we are issuing an urgent SOS to the eligible people who have yet to get jabbed this year.

If you are eligible but haven't yet booked/had your flu vaccine, please either call the surgery on 01484 842652 or use the booking link you may have been sent, as we have clinics running throughout November.

Eligible patients are:
🫄Pregnant women
👨‍⚕️Everyone aged 65 and over
👨‍⚕️18-64 year olds with certain long term conditions
👨‍⚕️Care home residents
👨‍⚕️Carers, front line health workers and social care workers

If you are unsure if you are eligible our Reception team will be able to confirm this.
