🎄✨ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮 𝘄𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗮𝘀 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻! ✨🎄

Our Christmas party was a real success and such a lovely afternoon to share together.

A huge thank you to our chef Louis, who treated everyone to homemade mince pies, gingerbread men and a delicious chocolate yule log - they went down an absolute treat! Alongside plenty of mulled wine, red, white and rosé wine, and a splash of Baileys, there was lots of festive cheer to go around.

We sang Christmas songs, played games, and it was especially lovely to see the children getting involved – decorating gingerbread men and creating beautiful Christmas tree decorations.

Thank you to all the families and friends who came along, and to our amazing staff who helped make the afternoon so special.

We warmly invite families and friends to join us for our Christmas celebration on Saturday 20th December, from 1.30–3.30pm.

There will be mulled wine, mince pies, cakes, festive singing and games, and plenty of time to enjoy the Christmas atmosphere together.

All families are very welcome. We look forward to sharing a lovely afternoon with you ✨

🌿 A Lovely Morning Among the Flowers 🌸

At the weekend, we enjoyed another wonderful visit to the garden centre. There’s something so special about wandering among all the colourful plants and taking in the fresh scents of summer blooms.

Residents picked out a few favourites, shared stories about their own gardens, and treated themselves to tea and cake in the café. Simple outings like these always bring so much happiness and connection.

We’re already planning our next trip - you can never have too many flowers!

🌈 In Loving Memory of Scooby 🐾

Today, we said goodbye to our dear friend and companion, Scooby.

Scooby has been a much-loved part of Crimson Manor for 11 years, bringing comfort, friendship, and countless smiles to residents, staff, and visitors alike.

A retired racing greyhound (who we always suspected faked an injury to retire early at just 2 years old!), Scooby was chosen for his gentle nature, calm temperament, and big heart. Greyhounds make wonderful companions for older people - they are naturally lazy, don’t bark much, don’t jump, and their clean fur is a joy to stroke. But Scooby was extra special. Confident, affectionate, good with other dogs, and endlessly patient, he achieved the Kennel Club’s Gold Award in obedience training - quite an achievement for a greyhound!

Over the years, Scooby has brought so much warmth and companionship to our home. Whether sitting quietly by someone’s chair, offering a friendly nuzzle, or simply being a calm presence in the room, he had a unique way of making everyone feel loved.

Last week, Scooby developed problems with his back. Today, he was diagnosed with cancer of the spine, which had spread to his spleen and caused paralysis in one leg.

He has been by our side through everything - including the best and the hardest times. He even endured the occasional unfair criticism from inspectors, but he was always cherished by those who truly understood his value.

We are truly devastated to lose him. He was more than a pet - he was part of our family. Rest peacefully, Scooby. You were the best boy, and you will be deeply missed. 💔🐾

🎵 What a fantastic afternoon of music and memories! 🎸✨

We were thrilled to welcome back Rick Fry, a long-time favourite here at Crimson Manor, for a wonderful session of singing and guitar. It’s been a while since Rick last performed with us, and he didn’t disappoint - everyone was clapping, tapping their feet, and singing along to all the classics.

Lovely to see so many smiles and hear the familiar tunes that bring back such happy times. Come back soon, Rick! ❤️🎶

🎬 Another brilliant day out at the dementia-friendly cinema screenings at The Light, Huddersfield! 🍿✨

This time we watched The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel - a feel-good film full of laughs, life lessons, and proof that adventure doesn’t stop with age (quite the opposite, actually!). 😄

Big thanks to The Light Huddersfield for their warm hospitality - free drinks and snacks made it even sweeter. We’re already looking forward to the next one!

A wonderful afternoon at the cinema!

We were thrilled to take four of our residents to The Light in Huddersfield this week for one of their new Dementia Friendly Screenings. It was a fantastic experience—comfortable, relaxed, and full of smiles.

Thank you to The Light Huddersfield for creating such an inclusive and welcoming environment. We’ll definitely be back!

We’re excited to share that our beautiful new flooring is now complete across all our ground floor communal spaces, including the hall and dining room! This luxury wood-effect flooring not only looks elegant but is also slip-resistant and practical, ensuring safety without compromising on style.

Our residents have been loving the fresh new look, and it’s wonderful to see how it enhances the warm, homely feel of Crimson Manor. A big thank you to everyone who helped make this transformation happen! 🏡✨

🥞 Flipping Good Fun for Pancake Day! 🥞

Today at Crimson Manor, we celebrated Pancake Day the only way we know how—by whipping up a batch of delicious homemade pancakes! From classic lemon and sugar to indulgent chocolate and fruit toppings, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

It’s always a joy to see our residents get involved, whether it’s helping to mix the batter, choosing their favourite toppings, or simply enjoying the sweet treats with a cup of tea. A perfect way to bring everyone together and share some smiles!
