I love training movement

Here's why:
Moving lifts my mood
It makes me feel amazing
Learning 'how' to move freed my mind and my body
It physically AND mentally charges me
Each time we become more capable
And more in control
(especially when done regularly and constantly)

One month

It's been a busy month.

Quality movement is one of the biggest things we can give ourselves. It's been an absolute pleasure teaching every single body who has walked into class this month.

I have joked at the look of fear I have seen in people's eyes as the class starts. Fear as I demonstrate A move, followed by the wide eyed excitement each person has when they surprise themselves...

AND SUCCEED! ✨✨✨✨

Mat and Reformer Pilates movements can be varied in so many ways so you can build a class up no matter on your experience, ability or strength.

HERE'S AN EXAMPLE OF PROGRESSIONS:
Start with

Knees on the carriage
Not ready for knees lifted?
One arm off
Build up to..
Both hands on and
Knees lifted High
Progress to knees low
One leg extended

On a Reformer...
We can even change the springs and add further challenge!

A CONTROVERSIAL ONE...

The term 'fitness' and why does it fail for so many? Is it the attitude of grind it out, push harder, leaving exhausted, training poor form. Or, is it that it's often linked to classes you don't enjoy. Or even the dread of starting. All movement it good. But going in too hard and fast is a recipe to fail. As is exhaustion and poor form, it's not overly helpful for 'longterm' success.

Training movement gives you:
Freedom to:
Move how you want,
Do the things you want,
Makes you feel confident your body
Makes you capable.

Perhaps shift our focus and training smarter.
For greatest benefit train movement, add the add some strength training.

If you enjoy the exercise you do... Carry on!
