If you only do one thing for your skin this year, make it this 👇🏼
Wear SPF, every single day.
SPF is not a summer product. It is not optional on cloudy days. And it is not covered by your foundation. It is the single most effective thing you can do to slow down skin ageing, protect against pigmentation, and preserve every penny you’ve invested in treatments and skincare.
UVA rays, the ones responsible for ageing and DNA damage, are present every single day regardless of the weather or the season. They pe*****te cloud cover, they come through glass, and they accumulate silently over years before the damage becomes visible. By the time you can see it, it’s already been happening for a long time.
Every laser treatment, every skin booster, every retinoid working hard overnight. SPF is what protects all of it.
Here are three things worth looking for when choosing yours:
👉🏽 Broad spectrum protection. This means it covers both UVA and UVB rays. UVB causes burning, UVA causes ageing. You need protection from both, every single day, not just when the sun feels strong.
👉🏽 SPF50 as a minimum. SPF30 blocks around 97% of UVB rays, SPF50 blocks around 98%. The difference sounds small, but compounds significantly with daily exposure over the years. For the minimal extra effort, SPF50 is always worth it.
👉🏽 A formula you’ll actually wear. The best SPF in the world is the one you put on every morning without thinking about it. If the texture bothers you, if it leaves a cast, if it sits badly under makeup, you won’t use it consistently. Find one that works for your skin and your routine and stick with it.
One product, worn consistently, will do more for your skin over time than almost anything else you can buy.
